~Steps~

I was talking with a friend about steps..No not the kind you
have to climb..but the steps it takes me to do things compared
to someone with legs..I figure I have to take at least 3 to 4 rolls
to one step of a legged person depending on what it is they are
doing..To just go from point A to point B and if it is just a move
not carrying anything..I would take at 2 rolls of my chair to one
step.. If I had to carry something then could be as many as 4 to
1. To carry something you have to remember that if I don't change
hands I would go in a circle..

To stand at the sink, make a turn and take 3 steps to the stove, I
would have to take the brake off first. then roll back, then turn to
the direction I want to go..then another roll to maneuver in front of
the stove, which could be 2 rolls depending which way I wanted
to be at the stove..facing it or sideways to be closer so I dont have
to lean in..If I face the stove, I make sure I am locked down if I have
to reach or stretch at all. Many times however I dont lock down and
at times has proven to be best especially when I have had grease
or something splash at me..I had to move right then..This is one
reason I dont like to use my power chair..I dont have the instant
response that I do in my manual chair...

When I say rolls I mean as having to use my hand to push this chair.
To grab the wheel and move myself..now remember too..sometimes
these tires have a mind of their own. My front tires turn totally around
so if I move slightly so as to make that tire move if It is not totally out
of the way..I have to move again..As they can stick out sideways or
which ever ..I have to watch which way they are pointed and if I am
headed in a certain direction I have to make sure my front tires are
aimed that way or I will go off course on one of my push offs from
the refrigerator or dining room table..I have route I take that I can
use to just keep using things to propel me back here into my bed
room...and that makes it easier to carry things in here and I dont
have to switch hands to make sure I go straight. My poor arms are
doing double duty now..they are still my arms..but now my legs too.
No wonder they ache so much..:-)

I have been feeling pretty good the past few days but not sleeping
worth a hoot..Well I cant say I feel good ALL the time..I go up and
down..I can be feeling good and then all of a sudden realize I am
SO tired and I don't feel the greatest and I have NO choice but to
lay down..This cough hasn't left either...When I get like this I don't
feel like doing anything...I wonder how long it will take this cold/flu
to run its course..and work its way out.. Ive talked to a few people
that have had it and it took one friend almost 3 months. The cough
wears you out...

I'm so glad you like my fishing story's.. I have alot of them..I used to,
when I first got online and was on Mirc, tell story's about my life..things
I have done..and I cant remember how many had told me I should
write them down, and thats what I am going to do...I bet if I wrote a
detailed book of my life though everyone would think I had made most
of it up its such a road I have taken...Lots of things Ive seen, done,
endured...yet like that commercial ..this bunny just keeps on running
what was that other one? the Timex ..OHH "takes a licking, but keeps
on ticking" haha I guess you could say thats me...

I am going to make myself a nice hot grilled sandwich, I had Raelynn
get some ham and swiss cheese for me yesterday and that sure sounds
good with a nice cup of coffee ...ya..that will work...
Lunch? Well I took a quick glance, saw the CARROTTS and threw it in
the trash :-D well the meat looked like it had already been eaten once,
what ever it was, and I wasn't eating it. For my desert I have some golden
pound cake drizzled with raspberry jello, just totally soaked in it..It is SO
good I am really rationing my self or I would eat every bit of it Its been so
long since I have had this..I forgot how good it is...So now that I have
made everyone hungry its FEND for THYSELF lol..Nitey nite...

Y'all have a good one now Y'hear? LUV YA!!! and Thanks :-)

Always, Lois****

May God Bless you today,
I'm so honored to call you friend,
I pray the Lord will keep you safe,
Until I write again...

    Dear Timex!!!!
You have already written some of your stories on your weblog. Just do a cut & paste into a special folder and there is the start of your book.
Need an editor? to check spelling & punctuation?? - I'm offering. Of course, it would be English spelling, not American!!!
Come to think of it, perhaps I'll follow my own advice and then, when you want it, I could e-mail the contents of the folder to you.
Like I said the other day, I have just a tiny inkling of how much more you have to do, because I tried using a chair to make sure it would fit this house before my Russian friend came to stay, and also the washing up with just one hand. One of the reasons why I admire DAK ladies so much, I guess.
Take care, Hon, lots of love and hugs from
    Raife

    Morning Raife,
Your most kind, and that is a good idea, I laid and thought last nite about all the stories I have, not just fishing ones...that would be great if you did that for me.. I know your a good editor..and I KNOW you need even MORE to do lol...

Until you get in a chair, THEN you know just how NOT easy it is..:-) I thought just rolling around would be easy compared to having to walk all over ...haha..I found out right quick lol..it AIN'T EASY lol..

Hope you & management are feeling better...take care...
    Always, Lois ****

An English editor? One side of my family is from Australia. My "colourful" uncle constantly tell me that Americans drive on the right site of the foad, but Aussies drive on the correct side. He goes to hospital while I go to THE hospital. He says that I should use the dustbin, but I know that is just garbage. He notes with horror that American eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, no doubt imagining Wonderbread with Jiff and lime Jello. Take that, Marmite eaters.
