~I DO SEW~
I talk about the fact that I sew. and I do..I have since I was
a tiny girl on my grammas porch making doll clothes I bet
I was 9 or 10 ...I loved it.. Gramma gave me those scraps
of cloth and a needle and thread..I had a little skinny doll I
kept there and I would make clothes for her.. I had a good
kept there and I would make clothes for her.. I had a good
time sitting out on that porch...I have always liked to make
things.. I think its the thought of taking just a piece of flat
material that is nothing but that, a piece of flat material..but
you cut and shape, and pin and sew..and you can end up
with some gorgeous stuff.. I loved to make my own clothes.
then I KNEW NO ONE had anything like I did ANYWHERE.
I LOVED that.. and I made some really NICE stuff.. When I
lived in that HOTSPOT in California..I had to stay in..so of
course I had my machine with me, well I wouldnt have gone
if it hadnt lol..so I made some of the NICEST short sets.. We
were invited to a friends BBQ and everyone was going to go
very casual as it was swimming in the pool..and just backyard
fun..I decided to make a new outfit..I got some HOT PINK..
 SILK..and made a pair of shorts..then I made a matching top
with a nice low round neck.. and this silk now..was LUSH..so
soft and just the slightest movement you could see how nice
the material was.. I got MORE compliments on that I was so
pleased..and needless to say..Willie? well he was VERY glad
I could sew. he enjoyed that outfit too :-)

When I lived in Indiana with my ex, David , I had a sewing room,
the 2nd bedroom and I did have a business ..I did alterations and
at one time made the hats- I had a friend that her husbands pants
ALWAYS had to be shortened, and she brought them to me.. Her
twin grandchildren Jasmine and Jaylin were in a wedding.. They
needed a dress for Jasmine..and wanted a solid white, plain with
a ruffle at the bottom..gave me the size.etc. and I proceeded to make
Jasmine a dress. She was the flower girl..and as you see a doll..
They came and picked up the dress, paid me of course, and left.
3 days later I got these 2 photos delivered by my friend and as you
3 days later I got these 2 photos delivered by my friend and as you
can see, I had not seen Jasmine, or anything..but the dress was
absolutely perfect..could NOT have fit her better..even the length..
I made them give me all her measurements and voila' isnt she just
a cutie? And I DID VERY good on that dress I WILL say VERY
braggingly.. braggingly? lol..:-) And needless to say, she LOVED

When I lived in Green Bay I used to help do weddings.. My dear
friend Nadine decided she was going to get married..and asked if
I would make her daughters dress and do the hair pieces and also
the bouquets for the wedding.. The little girl in the center, if you see
the back at the bottom of her dress ruffles..and there is a ruffle at
the bottom..and also all the way up the back..you can see some just
under her arm. The bouquet I made the girl on the right is holding
and I did the hair pieces as well. It was a lovely wedding and Amanda
still to this day has that dress..Says she will NEVER part with it..The
skirt was very full and you can see the wonderful colors..This was a
june wedding and a wonderful one..Ted, is American Indian and it
When I moved to Indiana I started to make scrub tops, then after I
moved in here before just got hard to sew as a dak I made Scrub
Tops..like nurses wear in Hospital or in the Drs or Dentist offices..
I made lots of them and I made good on them. To get good quality
ones you almost have to order out of a catalog or probly online now..
and by the time they are shipped, mailing costs etc. took awhile and
they were NOT cheap depending on size, the little amount of
material they take and are about the easiest things to make..take
material they take and are about the easiest things to make..take
no time..I can cut one out, sew it..finish it off in less than an hour or so
depending if I have interruptions which usually do by you know who.
When I was in the hellhome I made the baby and lap quilts, I do not
have one photo of any of the dozens I made. They were so pretty too
And easy I loved putting them together.THAT was the hardest part.
Deciding what colors, materials i wanted to use. I steady made them
And easy I loved putting them together.THAT was the hardest part.
Deciding what colors, materials i wanted to use. I steady made them
and had orders backed up..Finally the administration realized I was
making money there- they made a rule NONE of the help could give
money to a resident, and cannot buy anything from them but we did it
on the sly-they would send their daughter or friend in to get the quilts
when I would tell them they were done lol. always a way around them.
 Another reason to escape.
So there are a few Proofs of the Puddin' :-) I wish I had pics of the stuff
I made and speaking of puddin...well MY PUDDIN is out in that fridge.
I DO have some good tapioca puddin out there and I LOVE that stuff..

In NYC we have a College of Fashion called Fashion Institute of Technology or FIT as we call it. At Brooklyn Ethical, we have a painter who later in life went to FIT and she actually could major in Period Costumes with an idea for working in Opera or Theater costumes. She makes her main income doing doggie fashions. She also does opera costuming but opera companies are poor. She has a regular sewing studio set up in her home with an Industrial weight sewing machine.

You can sew anything with a industrial machine. I wanted one so bad before. Dog clothes are VERY popular and very much in demand. Ive made LOTS. Doggie clothes are like for people they dont wanna see themselves 50 times either lol.. Ive made LOTS of doggie coats.its a good living I bet..easy sewing as well..smart lady...

My Dear Lois,
That dress on that little Poppet is just gorgeous - what a clever girl you are!!
Sewing is fun, isn't it? I've made kites out of rip-stop nylon and pyjamas and shirts and fluffy toys, including Snoopy!!
Thanks for the pics. Take care, Hon, lots of love and hugs from
