~Living & Laughing IS the Hardest~
I usually don't watch OPRAH, but I did yesterday when I saw
it was about that lady Monica that went to have her baby and
when she came out of the hospital she was minus her arms and
legs.. She had gotten some disease and her limbs died.. they
turned black and they had to amputate; she is a quad now....
Bless her heart.. She is so pretty... and so very determined to
get through it.. she is like me, we are of the same attitude,
and I think that's why I sat and watched OPRAH..or I wouldn't
have watched it.. She and I both said, "Well lets get on with
this, do what ya gotta do, and let me go home". She has
a great attitude and I am very proud of her.. Being so very
young and her whole life yet ahead.. She will still have a very
full one with the great attitude she has.. Its so EASY to cry,
its the laughing and living that's hard for us...
She had prosthetics and its only been a year since she lost
her limbs.. so she is doing very good.. I feel so badly for her.
I complain and whine and moan about being without legs,
but to have arms gone too? THAT has got to be a lot worse.
I should not complain.. I know a woman out west that flies
and goes all over and she is a quad too.. I commend these
ladies.. I wonder if I would be so brave... yet, I think so,
my life wont stop cuz I lose a leg, or arm, or eye, or even an
my life wont stop cuz I lose a leg, or arm, or eye, or even an
ear.. it will go on.. and being on wheels now, well my life aint
going anywhere with out me with it... Its all in what we make
it.. She has a very full life, I watched her husband as he
helped her, and the loving looks he gave her.. THAT is a
major help for her and I am so glad she has that... Some
would have run.... and not accepted an imperfect wife... I'm
proud of him too.. And I have to say I was glad to see that
OPRAH finally had something worthwhile to see instead of
all about herself and how generous she is... I am NOT a
fan of OPRAH. can you tell? But yesterday was a good show.
I had the most wonderful phone call yesterday! and I cannot
WAIT for Saturday! :-) guess why? well the phone call was
from my sister, Shirley, the one with more material than Wal
Mart :-) she is coming up here for a visit and in the mean time
she is going through some of her stuff, material, patterns etc,
and going to share with me.. I need a dress pattern for my
doll, yes, my little girl that stands here in the living room :-)
I want to make her a really pretty little dress with a matching
I want to make her a really pretty little dress with a matching
bonnet ... and I want a little boys pj pattern...PLUS she is
bringing some polar fleece !
She is so good to me, she shares and I am MOSt grateful.. She
and I can talk for hours about sewing.. We have the best time
telling each other what we are making and getting ideas from
each other.. She made her granddaughters some poodle skirts
like they wore back in the 50's I bet they are so cute... Between
the 2 of us there is not ONE thing we couldn't make a pattern
for OR make it.. I told her last nite, that I can truthfully say,
that she and I are both professional seamstresses.. I can operate
more kinds of sewing machines since I have sewn for companys
where Shirley hasnt, basically its only just a matter of how
straight a seam you can sew. But I cant wait to see her and
what she is bringing...
Its time to post this and get back to work, I am working on the
curtains for the windows so Penny can hang them tomorrow.
She will have a busy day, but she doesn't really mind. she wants
to learn to sew, so I have agreed to teach her.. its not hard,
just cant be afraid of the machine.. same like a computer.. So
many are afraid of it.. its only a machine and does what YOU
tell it too... and MINE better listen, or I will wash and clean it
out till it does ! She was running slow yesterday and I had to
run all my debuggers, which are AVG, SpyBot and AdAware,
which are the very best AND agreeable with Vista.. But I
got this baby up and runnin right again.. for how long? I have
no idea.. but it seems when I threaten to get an APPLE Mac,
this HP seems to just straighten right out.. Just like Dutch,
when I tell him I'm gonna get a new baby kittie that's nice
to me.. then he kisses me.. :-)
Time to post and get to work, which is really play, but I
cant till I write my GORGEOUS WEEBLE, "G'day, G'day".
Y'all have a good one now, Y'hear? love ya and thanks...
Always, Lois ****
"God Bless You", is my prayer today,
I'm honored to call you "friend".
I pray the Lord will keep you safe,
Until I write again............

Hi Gorgeous,
I'm not an Oprah fan at all-so didn't watch it yesterday - but wish I had. Sounds like some woman. I've heard of what happened to her (or someone else in the same situation a couple years ago). And that's great that her husband is so supportive. I'm sure it's not easy.
Well - thanks for the other info too. I'm sure you get that computer in line in no time - and Dutch too - lol.
Take care, Bare Hugs,
Butty

Hello Lois
I don't watch Oprah anymore...I really don't have a lot of time for TV...I do try to watch 7 Heaven at noon, but most of the time I miss it...
I read about that lady losing arms and legs, going to the hospital to have a baby return home with no legs or arms. I was so sad over that.
Good day here Bob birthday today, Our son took us out to eat today and Wed our daughter took us out to eat. They couldn't get together because of there work.
God bless you Lois.
