~Visit From Joyce~ :-)
I had an unexpected visit yesterday afternoon. I had
laid down and took a nap, I had no choice I was so tired,
I was afraid I would fall out of my chair if I fell asleep
in it and after dozing off a few times, I got over onto
my bed, 2 hours later I hear my door bell.. I got back
into my chair, rolled into my livingroom looking both ways
to see which doorbell had been rung, I cant tell any
difference in them myself.. It was Joyce, Carls wife.
Shes really nice :-)
Shes really nice :-)
She was on her way back from the garage where Carl
is working on refinishing a dresser for their daughter,
and decided to come and ask how I liked the zucchini
cake..which of course I assured her I sure DID! It
was delicious.. She stayed for a few minutes and we
talked about the sunflowers and how amazed she was
at how fast they grew, and how pretty the morning
glory was that was by the hummer feeder. She has
a birdseed feeder but not for the hummers. She
asked if any came to it.. I assured her they sure did!
I bet if she got one they would go by hers too.. She
has lots of birds by her feeder. but she has no bird
bath... :-)
Before she left she asked if I would like some fresh
tomatoes from her daughters garden.. what a question..
I smiled and and told her "I would LOVE some tomatoes!"
After she left I went back to deciding if I wanted to
finish my nap, when I heard the doorbell again and I
see Joyce walk in carrying a bag of tomatoes and 2
pieces of spice cake with cream cheese frosting. She
said "nothing like just making myself at home and just
walk in.".. I assured her that was JUST fine.. My door
was always open.. specially to someone carrying cake
and fresh tomatoes :-) I'm not crazy YET!! well THAT
crazy lets say :-)
crazy lets say :-)
Ive not done too much of anything today other than
cook up the sausage, potatoes and cabbage , Penny
cut everything up for me and all I had to do was put
it in the electric frying pan and cook it.. My arms
are aching so bad lately that its a real effort to do
anything.. My hands I don't trust them to carry any
thing heavy... So by her doing all the prep for me ,
that sure helped.. not like I would starve to death if
I didn't cook.. COA's suppers are ALWAYS good...
Sometimes I eat them for lunch :-)
Time to post and check my taters n cabbage, and for
my GORGEOUS WEEBLE warning "I shall return".
I'm glad you like my pictures... I like taking them :-)

"God Bless You" is my prayer today,
I'm honored to call you Friend,
I pray the Lord will keep you safe,
Until I write again...

Tomatoes: I can fix them so many different ways. Some of our supermarkets sell pickled green tomatoes. I pickled up some green peppers recently, I've experi-mented with succotash and I am always eating Kasha with a tex-mex recipe involving cumin, red bell peppers, potatoes and onions.
