~Snitty~ :-)

Wasnt too bad a day today, I still am in a sort of snit I guess I would call it.. I have NO idea what really triggers them I wish I did ..I wouldnt pull it... I get into these really crappy moods..and have these pity party's for myself and get all down..and put my self in such a ickky spot..then I have a hell of a time getting out of them. This time it seems the harder I try the deeper I get. And then even the slightest thing will get me down even farther..then I get a bad headache and then look for my bed. I guess maybe its a good thing it is a weekend..altho doesnt really matter as the only thing that really changes here is the date and time and the weather lol.. THAT is a guaranteeeeee :-) well my attitude does too sometimes-- but I DO stay GORGEOUS :-) snit or no snit..... lol... Raelynn came today and bless her heart she is patiently waiting for her cable..they are just giving her the run around. They have been giving her one excuse after another.. I'd be for calling them every hour..Being as big as Comcast is.. I would think they would give better more reliable service than what they do.. I wish there was something else that WAS more reliable.. They flat out told me a lie when the repair guy said he was putting a lock on the box down in the maintenance room.I asked Chris..he said they didnt lock anything.. its just like it was.. I dont understand this kind of business..a lie is a lie..and I just have a HORRIBLE thing about a LIE...want to see me get really mad in a hurry.?.let me catch one.. well there is no reason to lie about anything, for any reason.. And..if you tell the truth you never have to remember exactly..if you lie you have to keep track of what you said.. lol.. .I just cannot see any reason for one.. a little white one is different..like.'.is there gas in the car' 'Yes dear' or 'do I look fat'..'no no you look wonderful'.. those are fibs.. and dont really hurt you..and sometimes just to save things you have to tell a little fib..if someone asks me something and I cannot tell them for what ever reason..I tell them "dont make me answer or I will have to tell you a lie" and I am being honest. :-) and then say nothing.. I hate to lie...well I wont- and thats my final answer on THAT :-) Tuesday is the 4th of July..so I know most people will be having a bbq or some type of gathering.. and our weather is supposed to be HOT.. I have had my AC on for 4 days now..just trying to keep a constant temperature.. so far its working.. I am almost afraid to shut it off now for fear it wont turn back on.. lol..and especially since Chris said mine is the best in here.. I feel so sorry for the others in here cuz it sure is NOT that cool..I keep mine on low cool but the temp is at 9 ..and it barely cools this place..well its a wall unit that is like really a window one..and just not meant to cool 6 rooms.. I shut off the other bedroom.. I guess maybe if I got a couple small clip on fans, that might draw the cool back here to the bedroom.. I cant move my computer into the living room cuz Penny really complains about the noise, she just needs something to gripe about lol..She really doesnt have a life.. but then I have alot of room to talk dont I? I sit here ALL day at this computer doing one thing or another and some days nuthin, specially if I am in one of my snits.... so I shouldnt say anything should i? lol... :-) Donnie and Dawn left for Canada today and they are just so ready to go..they both work so hard..and stay busy busy..they need this time away and to spend time just with each other.. They are 2 of the sweetest people..Dawn is no bigger than a minute..and she just is so cute a tiny little blonde I bet her head comes to Donnies arm pit lol .. having his brother babysit the dog and cat and house is a big relief for them .. I offered but I cant get up the stairs LOL they have a tri - level house.. and well this chair doesnt do good with steps lol..but I bet I could make it out to his dock and to that pontoon sittin in the water and do some fishin :-) but hmmm who would bait my hook? well I would have to use lures then and I dont have my TACO box LOL... :-) RATZ.. Raelynn got us a pizza for lunch today from Little Caesars..and was only 5.oo and was really good.. I enjoyed that.. they have a lunch special that the pizza's are hot and ready ..just walk in the door .. pay and grab the one you want and EAT... its not that far from here she said-I have NO idea where it is .as I have only been down the main street (where it is) here 2 times..years ago..when I was in that parade riding in the back of that pick up truck for the hellhome throwing candy at the kids..well not at them FOR them lol..altho some kids the way they acted I did throw a bit hard..lol they were BIG kids, not the little guys..lol. So Im gonna nuke a piece of the left over pizza, get on my bed..and watch tv..lol ya right.. I didnt have a nap today so I KNOW as soon as I get comfy my eyes will just slam shut and 4 hours later I will look at the tv and wonder what happened to the show I was watching..thats why I miss the ends of alot of them. LOL .. ~One of Those Days~

I got this cute cartoon..and ya know...well doesn't this just say

it all sometimes? ? lol... The way these swings of mine been

goin' lately..well I feel like that dog lol...Like its time to say

"What the HELL ! ! ! " lol... I was doing pretty good..and today

was goin ok..not the greatest..but there were some sweet

comments left for me..and I always come here first thing to read

them while I have my coffee, cuz I know they will make me smile

and feel good.. Just kinda starts my day out pretty good. All the

sweet words..well.. geez who wouldnt have a good start for their

day being told all those nice things ?? :-)

Well anyway, first thing I did.. I was gettin my coffee, 2nd cup, then

I turned really fast..so I could get a good push off the counter, that

way I don't spill like a Miss MessyMargaret, well Dutch was NOT

expecting that, as it was not my usual get away and I RAN over his

tail.!!. Gawd,, you would have thought I ran over 6 cats in here.. He

let out a blood curdling scream, and JUMPED straight up in the

air.. as he came down I could SEE this look of "HOW COULD YOU"

on his face..and I knew then..well HE was really gonna be pissy the

rest of day..and I bet tonite I dont sleep too much...lol...well...

LB came running, ears back..and he was MAD, he got between me

and Dutch and GLARED at me, as if to say.."DON'T TOUCH HIM"

while Dutch is kinda whimpering at LB.. lol.. LB starts to lick Dutch's

face as if hes wiping away tears from his baby.. I had to smile.. I
tried to reach out to Dutch saying "aww,,, honey,, Mom's so sorry",

lol. well ... every time I did.. LB slapped at me and Dutch HID behind

LB.. This was a major deal now.. I half way expected Penny next door

to come over and see what the major malfunction was here...Talk

about Drama !! I had to laugh.. Well ya,, now THAT was the WRONG

thing to do.. LB gives me this snooty look..his tail is just twitching back

and forth really hard, ears kinda down.. I HAD to turn away and NOT

look at them!! the more I saw, the more I laughed lol. it WAS funny,

cuz Dutch wasnt HURT hurt.. no.. I knew he wasn't...I'd gotten him

before LOL.... he was just being dramatic...for sympathy ..:-)

Well ..I was back at the sink..getting my coffee back.. and yesss I did

another stupid... I spilled it ALL over the floor, the cup hit the edge of

the counter..lol.. It was like they both jinxed me.!,, So I had to get the

mop and get the coffee up..luckily I didn't have to roll through it.. So

I get this all mopped up..and look to see where the boys are and they

were just about where they were.. I look at Dutch..and all of a sudden

he kinda lurches forward a bit..like hes gonna throw up. GAWD... I
watch him..he starts to RUN towards the dining room carpet.. Well if

hes gonna puke.. do it on the linoleum..NOT the carpet.. so I grab a

napkin and head towards him.. he sees me and takes off again..but

as soon as he stops, right in front of my sewing room door..he lets go.

and pukes ALL over the carpet.!. YUKK... he runs off..kinda like hes

NOT sick , ya know?? I think hmmmm.. cuz hes done this before..I

thought was his usual ...but i could see this LOOK on his face..like a

HEHEHE... twinkle eye..and he was kinda happy dancin off.. Hmmm

NOW I have to clean THIS up.. its not so bad if this happens in the

kitchen or bathroom but on the carpet..well..first you have to get it

up..then wipe ..then rinse..then wipe again- this is some CRAP carpet

now.. If I dont do that it will leave a spot kinda on it, but I wonder if
Dutch puked deliberately? :-) naaa he wouldn't do that :-)

So after almost amputating Dutch's tail with my tire lol and the coffee

spill and ickky clean up I had hoped THAT would be the end of my

turmoil today since the swings really havent gone..and even though I

loved the comments..these swings..can erase the good stuff some

times or at least hide them...I had wanted to scan some photos of

Donnie & Dawns wedding and crop some of them.. well.. they are in

an album..on top of 2 boxes of LOOSE photos I have over here on

the table.. well..yup.. I hit them, they fell and of COURSE.. HAD to

scatter pictures all over the floor.. I SAT there and just stared at the

mess.. and KNEW how much bending I was gonna have to do to

pick up ALL those photos..CRAP! BUT.. I thought..well got to be a

easier way than ALL this bending..lol.. so I went and got my dust pan

and broom, the dust pan has a long handle on it..and I proceeded to

push the photos into that with the broom and IT really worked good!

So it wasnt as bad as I had thought it was gonna be.. I was VERY

careful with that broom tho..it has that LONG handle and I can hit

alot of stuff with just ONE movement of that thing..so I have learned..

Being in this chair..I mean its a daily learning thing.. I think I know

just about all the tricks of easier etc..but then I do a new stupid..and

have to think of a new way to correct what I did lol..Im just glad that

I CAN learn.. If I couldnt wow..i would be in really bad shape here and

poor Raelynn .. lol..she would quit if I left some of these messes for

her..specially ones that I cause my self. :-) One thing I HAVE learned,

you KNOW what I'm gonna say don't ya?? :-) yup.. I LEARNT my way

to the KITCHEN :-D... "LORD..dont never let me get lost on the way

THERE - PLEASE !" :-) sheesh, I might get SKINNY or something :-)

~Swing Moods~ :-( :-)

I woke up this morning in a mood.. I have been trying to fight it all day.
Its one of those back and forth swing ones, one minute its happy, the
next its almost a boohoo.. I hate these. I've talked to other amputees
and I am glad to know I am NOT the only one this happens to,
although at the time this CRAP is going on I honestly believe I am the
ONLY person in the world that goes through this- I really DON'T like
where these Swings take me sometimes.. :-)

I think this time for me, the pushes on this swing ride.. its almost the
4th, big holiday..and looking through all these old photos.. going back
to those "Good Old Days" seeing all the loved ones that have gone and
thinking of how easy and good life seemed when I look at photos of even
with David, my last husband, there were many good times I have had
old friends reappear that I was very fond of..that had left, that bring
back other more recent hurts.. and I get down.. then up..and then down
again... It seems different things trigger it.and I have to really TRY to
get past it all..if I dont it all piles up..the photos, the holiday,different
worries and people, ALL can add to these mood swings. some times the
back and forth can really make you not know which way your goin' ya
know? which way your facing back or forward :-) its a battle...but if
you want out of it .. well..you got to TRY...

Someone said to me just the other day in chat, when I had mentioned
I had put some new photos here sunday, They came and saw them ,
the first comment I got was.. "You sure are Proud of them stumps
aren't ya?" My response was.."well not proud..but I'm not ashamed
of them either" I dont flaunt the fact that I am a amputee..I can't help
that I am.. If I had a choice? well..not that I would want to give up all
my friends I have now..but back then? 5 years ago?? Ya..let me keep
my legs...and proud? well I am PROUD of WHO I am.. and I am NOT a
quitter.. I guess I just maybe accept me no matter what I look like..Im
still me..and as long as I LIKE me..and my boys..hey..Works for me. So
many amputees lose their self esteem..their husbands have left..or their
familys and friends dont bother with them well.. ummm.. I have only a
sister and 1 friend that stuck with me thru all my HELL.. and I HAD alot
of friends I thought and my husband? well color him gone too and ALL
most ALL of my belongings, and my health AND wealth..BUT I'm still
here.. I feel bad for those that have a hard time finding themselves again
and lose their "self esteem" one I just heard about, been a amputee for
13 years and STILL does not have the greatest self image of herself..
needs others to give it to her.??? Thats so sad I think and I feel bad for

her.. BUT NO ONE else can really give you this.. YOU have to dig it out
of your inner self and find it.. Sure others can say "good job" and that
makes you feel great..does me..BUT.. If I didnt do all the"LEG" work
well.. I could be sitting back somewhere saying "wah wah wah poor me.
look what they did to me..my hubby left, I got no friends and I think I
will just eat worms" LOL...I HAVE to do it.. I have to make that first
STEP so to speak and NO ONE can do THAT for me.. its MY LEGS well
ok..Stumps that are on this Walk..:-) this road gets so hard sometimes
and let me tell ya between this bloomin SWING and that Heimer guy
steady dancin' with me wellll I am having a HELL of a time some days.
But I have to do this...and I wont let it drag on for 13 years.. no way 2
hours is TOO long for me. Ya, Im proud..OF ME...but I worked HARD
to get here...and I LOVE who I am..Im GORGEOUS :-D... but.. i can be
a witch too now..well that wasnt the exact word ive been called a few

times , but I had GOOD reason to be that way :-D I did!! :-)

Well I got that little speech done..on this up beat ride on this swing-

now on the down beat ..well - Im gonna go stuff some food in the way

and see if that helps make this down beat stop at least HALF way lol...

Its the holidays and I honestly think I need one too..and I did make a

promise to myself that I AM going to take that train ride if its the LAST

thing I DO . NOW I just have to decide East..or West..or a place I know

BEST :-) lol.. well the place I know the best right now?

~Mt. Rushmore~

I mentioned a summer vacation my parents and I went on to Mount Rushmore, in South Dakota. The Presidents heads are carved into the top of a mountain. I can still remember getting closer and closer and seeing those massive faces carved in the rock was just amazing. I was about 14 or so I think. The mountains were just great and you could see for miles, mom took this photo of dad and I by the state line sign.. I really look frumpy in that one.. so just look at the sign..lol...the next is better.. lol.. you see? I DID have legs!!! ;-) Before I had to surrender the photo albums to Gayle I did confiscate some of them and I took 5 that were my grandfathers of the carving of the heads into the mountain. The pictures are wonderful. Such detail- one even has the dimensions as to how big it measures.. it says : 6000 feet above sea level, the expanse from the top of the head to the chin is 60 feet, the length of the nose is 21 feet, the mouth is 18 feet wide. On the side it reads: Showing gigantic porportions of figures on Mount Rushmore Memorial, Blackills, S.Dak. Gutzon Borglum, Sculptor, photo by Lincoln Borglum. The men that worked on this had to be truly amazing people to hang over the sides by ropes..or in those boxes and swing type chairs..the vibration of those jack hammers and all the dust..that had to be a hard job..plus being out there in the hot sun. And the weather out there in the mountains is always so unpredictable. Truly dedicated men had to do this kind of work.. Me? no I just could NOT do it.. I got dizzy just standing on a chair. I am NOT good with heights..thats one reason I have trouble with flying.. the heights, not counting the claustrophobia . The men that build the skyscrapers or huge bridges and walk those beams? NO, I couldnt..But those that can do those kind of jobs..well I am very proud of them...but MY talents lie elsewhere. There's a website for Mount Rushmore just put that into your browser, and they even have some old film footage there to see. Its very interesting. I know one thing I remember-sadly its lost over the years, that I got while we were in the gift shop..They have what is called Blackhills gold, it is lovely jewelery.. I got a ring.. was brown kinda stone with gold flecks sparkling in it..was just gorgeous.. I wore that ring for years. I dont know what happened to it, probly when my things were stolen a long time ago.. I lost most of my high school things and memories of my first marriage, photos etc. I kind of think thats where that ring went as well, to whomever took my belongings.. Leave it to me to remember jewelry.. But I LOVE it.. thats why I wear 13 rings now.. I do.. 7 on my right hand, 6 on my left, I had to take 4 off..sadly, one the band broke and 3 got just too small. so now I only wear 13.. My sister does too..Im not sure how many but at least 1 on each finger ..not the thumbs.. I wear more than one on a finger.. I have 2 or 3 on one some times.. what?? I CANT help it.. I LOVE jewelery ..:-D... I do have a stupid to report ... I did it to myself again.. I was in a hurry to get the photos scanned and Dutch and LB were being real pains in the patootie cuz I hadnt fed them yet.. Well I needed more coffee so I decided to feed them too, just to shut them up..well I took a spoon and dug the cat food out, I put the dish on the floor, then proceeded to fix my cup of coffee.. I poured it into the cup, reached for the spoon, got 2 spoons of sugar,, ok ok 3 , small ones, and stirred, brought it back in here, without spilling too!!! I sat here at my computer..and took a nice sip of my coffee.. You KNOW what I did dont you? lol..ya.. I used the WRONG bloomin SPOON !!! I had catfood coffee.. what a YUK!~ I spit it back into the cup..and well I didnt need a 3rd cup anyway ... I do some of the most looney things all because I have my mind going on a dozen different things.. *SIGH* Needless to say, that is another lesson learned by Lois.. After you use a spoon for the catfood PUT in IN the sink. :-D...learning is such fun.... Well I already know my way into the kitchen.. I do have a path.. Raelynn asked about that..why is there a path cut to the kitchen.. lol I did not tell my involvement with THAT one.. I do think this chair knows the way all by itself out to there too... :-D should by now hey? lol... I know the cats do. ~Summer Holiday~

Everyone takes a holiday during the summer vacation I think.

I know we did when I was young. Yellowstone Park or Niagara

Falls, some great places. I remember we went to Billings,

Montana and seeing a ghost town out there.We specially

liked Mt. Rushmore with the presidents headscarved into the

side of the mountain. That was amazing to see. I have some

old photos of them making that and I will have to dig them out its

really interesting to see all the things they did to be able to do that.

I am not sure if my Grandfather was a surveyor on that or not..

From these pictures even down to the dimensions of parts is

amazing...

Donnie & Dawn are taking their yearly trek up into Canada to go

fishing. They drive up through Sault Ste. Marie and then go to a

place where the get on a small plane that fly's them in to a camp

site. It has a cabin, generator and outdoor shower and toilet. grill

and a boat and motor..They take ice in a chest and I think they

come every 3 days and replace the ice and check on you. They

love it.. They have seen bear, moose, and Donnie says the

biggest fish anywhere. Some of the lakes are trophy lakes that the

fish have to be a certain size before you can keep them..They

have a really good time. The picture up top is Donnie with a

Northern Pike he caught. Nice fish.

I tried the camping bit with David..we went only 15 miles from

home out to Ottawa Lake.. great spot.. the campsite was right

next to the water and we just kept the boat right there. We had

a new tent we bought..set it all up and tried to have a good time.

It was the most horrible camping experience I had ever been on.

The first day there was great..sunny and warm. The 2nd day..

well THATS when the rain started..well we figgured ok- one day

of rain..we sat it out.. the 3 rd day it rained off and on.. but thats

when it started getting COLD. This was spring..opening of fishing.

so was still cool..but this cold? Well I thought I was gonna freeze

to death...

We had a nice size tent.. and we had 2 sleeping bags that we

zipped together to make one big bag.. It was SO cold that we

had to sleep smack up against each other and keep the bag

tight up around our necks or feel a horrible COLD draft.. When

one of us wanted to move..we would nudge the other and say

"moving" and we each would roll at the same time so as not

to make any drafts or cold spots.. Well .. THIS was just COLD.

We woke the next morning to more rain, cold..and I sat there

under the tarp we had over the grill pit..with chairs around it.
Some friends of ours came out to visit and to see if we were

sticking this awful camping trip out.. I sat there and played

with a drip as it hit the ground to make a little trough for it to

flow off and away from us..Freezing, wet, and miserable..I
looked at everyone, stood up and told them I was going home.
I was 15 miles away and I could be toasty warm, dry and eat

something alot better than soggy wet stuff. We all looked at

each other..David didn't say a word..but walked over and

started to pack up the stuff from inside the tent..and load the

car..told me to drive home with his friends wife..that they

would take the truck and load up the boat and meet us back

in town.. You KNOW he had to tell me TWICE yes? It was

awful... How we even managed to stay for 3 days was amazing.

But I have to admit..the fishing was great..Doesnt matter to

fish I guess how cool it is..or that idiot fishermen are out in boats

sitting in the rain trying to catch them... I was NOT one of them.

This camping idiot stayed as warm as I could by that fire and

trying to keep it going...That was the first of TWO camping trips

the 2nd one? well I will write about it another time..it was a heck

of a vacation too ...:-)

Speaking of trips.. Its time to make that nightly trip out to see

where Raelynn put those raspberry cookies. lol..They are dry

and warm too lol.. so am I..it was really hot out today but it

wasnt too bad in here. I think I hear those cookies yellin at me.

so its that time.. Hittin publish...nitey nite... :-)

~ShowerChair Extras~

I decided that the photos I put here before of my shower chair were ok,
ones..but didnt show ALL of what it can do, and I didn't take any of ME
in it.. :-) So I took a few more to put here to show you, so you can see I
am just GORGEOUS no matter WHAT chair I sit in :-D No, I wanted
to show you that the chair has other qualities, :-) really :-) that there is
a pail that goes under it.. it comes with a lid..but using for a potty well
leave the lid off please LOL... I got to looking at that and thought
"hmmm that COULD come in handy" lol.I wish it WAS alot easier to
stay sitting in..lol...I think that this chair is also capable of being put
over a toilet for safety reasons to sit, why the seat removes, then you
can use the seat on the toilet itself, just keep this there for safety,
thats why the arms raise up perhaps..

I put the arms up..they dont come off..just tilt back.. I guess because
some would transfer into it from the side and not front to front, like I
do and I would imagine if itwas put over a toilet for safety reasons, the
arms going up would be the only way to get onto it...You can see the
brakes on each side and places where foot rests go.. I took them off, I
had no need, but they come with it. I still have them here, some where.

The seat is NOT attached..which is really not a good thing. I some
times- if I dont raise up enough I drag it with me..Well my butt is a bit
heavy you know :-) but it only just pushes back up against the brace in
the back of the chair. I would assume this is for when it is over a toilet,
then the toilet seat can be put down over the base of the chair and the
chair seat put some where else...There are alot of possibilites for this
thing.. I guess thats why it cost $ 1700.oo which is alot of money but

what price can you put on safety? I feel alot better in it as far as SAFE
goes..but its just not easy to sit in...

I took this picture sitting in this, you can see that I am sort of really
sitting kinda straight straight.. I can stand it for a little while, I really
couldnt for any length.. My stumps really start to ache and I guess its
because of the straight angle I have to sit in where in my manual chair
I sit all which ways- sometimes even sideways with my stumps up
against the arm rests just to have a new way to sit..lol... works for a
while. I think we all have our own ways that are comfy for us to sit- all
the hours we do in these chairs- I stay in mine from 6 am to 8, 9 at nite

long time..why I am glad its bigger so I can move around in it. If I had
to stay one way.well no.I just couldnt, thats the same when I sleep-I can
only lay one way for so long..maybe 4 hrs or so at a time..then have to
change to another position which is usually sitting up if I have been
laying down, I think everyone does that though, have to keep re-doing
so you stay comfortable.. :-) I do..I know my ex did..Lord he slept ALL
over the bed, MY side as well!! :-) now I share with 2 live cats and one
stuffed one. :-D

Quiet sunday today..Raelynn surprised me and stopped by!

I did not expect her..She had stopped by a discount store and

picked up some things I needed..like snail mail envelopes..We,

well SHE has been looking for some magnifying eye glasses for

me to wear while I am online.. I need over a 400 ..and so far she

can only find 350.. They work but I still have to strain to see ...The

joys of being blind in one eye lol.. Im in bad shape hey? blind in

one eye cant see out of the other..hell of a note I'd say lol..

Well you KNOW what is next.. I have NOT eaten today and I only

had soup yesterday.. so 3 guesses what I am gonna fix today?

yup..my very best favorite..fries n gravy lol Raelynn has to go to

the grocery store for me tomorrow as I promised Donnie to get

him some things for his trip to Canada.. he loves to fish.. so I

Slow quiet day today and didnt do alot of anything.. I did get all my in
box cleaned out and took care of some back stuff I had put off.. I had
thought perhaps my sister might come by but she had things to do.
She phoned earlier in the day, she works and her days off are pretty
much spent at home getting things done she cant during the week..
The joys of having to work...That, I HAVE to say I really dont miss
having to go to a job every day.. I think I do work..being in a chair
is WORK!!! :-D

I started working when I was about 14 or so, I would baby

sit for the neighbor, that was the principle of the high school,

when I got a bit older I did ironing for my cousin.. I never

did mind ironing..I was always such a perfectionist I guess

I didn't mind using an iron ... With the way the clothes are

now very few need it.. Just wash and hang . Alot easier to

care for when years ago some things had to be starched..

I know my mother ironed everything till I was old enough

to do it.. then I did, and I didn't really mind. I figured out my

own short cuts and could iron quite well.

I've done so many different types of work..but I think the one

thing most of my job experiences have been working with

people. From nursing to tending bar, to being a waitress

to owning my own business. I've worn alot of different job

hats in my life..and I can honestly say I did like all of them.

There maybe was just the one I was NOT good at and that

was being a waitress..That was when I was living in Tampa.
I tried SO hard..but I just could NOT carry all that food on a

huge tray all hot and steamy.. The lady that owned the place

was very nice and tried to show me how she lined those

plates up on her arm, 3 or 4 at a time..and would go off to

take them to the tables.. I tried that once and well guess

WHO got the food..yes.. the FLOOR... I did try tho.. but that

was just NOT my calling.

I enjoyed Marketing, kinda like sales but not really. I was a

Marketing Support Specialist..where I would help all the sales

men. I worked for a export crating company in Houston.. Was

a very interesting place.. We would put things into those big

huge boxes that they load onto ships and send things overseas.

Everything that went into them had to be braced down so that

it didnt move during shipping. It wasnt really hard work..just hot.

Specially in the summertime..those carpenters would go into

those containers and come out wringing wet from the heat in

side those things.. We did alot of oil wells..I remember one

thing we shipped was a very old Carousel that we had to ship

to France.. I went out to the shop to see it.. It was just lovely.

I think it was in Houston on exhibit or something..was a long

time ago..Those horses were just wonderful.. I watched almost

every day as they methodically took it apart very carefully and

place almost lovingly the pieces inside..then would cover and

put wood around so they didnt move.. Was a big job, but well

worth the extra effort to protect something so lovely.. I did find

out later it arrived in Paris I think all safe and sound.. We did

good on that one..

Most of my own businesses have been sewing except for the

tree service I had with my ex that was interesting..I can look at

a tree and tell you what it needs or doesnt need.. My sewing

business I think I have had that on and off most of my life.. I
always had a sewing machine..and I knew no matter what I
could always make a living one way or the other with it.. that as

long as I could sew I could provide for myself..I dont think there

is anything I cant make..just some things I wont make..lol I am

not one that likes long drawn out projects.. Why I like making

lap quilts or baby quilts they are a small enough project that I

dont get tired of doing the same thing over and over. When I
did sewing for some places in Indiana, we made curtains and

bedspreads at some and I would get SO tired of 200 pairs of

curtains all the same color and size.. NOT bragging but I was

fast..and to be HONEST..I learned FAST because it WAS so

boring lol... :-) just hurried and got it DONE and OUT the door.

When they had a rush job seemed I was one of them that they

seemed to come to for faster work.. was ok I didnt mind.. I

love to sew..and came up with alot of shortcuts that some of

the other women didnt think of that made it easier to get some

kinds of sewing done.. I can operate about 5 different types of

machines.. Practically everything has some kind of sewing on

it from car seats to book covers :-)

Well like i said was slow lazy day and this lazy weeble did NOT

even bother to cook today and I have to say I am hungry.. I

end every post with my trip to the kitchen lol..well its always my

last stop before I hit the bed.. I am going to try to read some

more of that manual for my 3 in 1.. I am.. one of these days I

may read the WHOLE thing.. :-) Dutch has sort of forgiven me

for allowing those DOGS into his house.. I knew he would but

he did get back at me.. about 3:30 this morning he sat on my

face and did his famous face tapping.. he KNOWS how to

wake me up..Then he went over to my desk and was trying to

get behind my monitor.. I finally just locked them out of my

bedroom..Maybe thats why I slept in till 8? lol.. Well im hitting

publish and finding food..and hopefully reading.. dont laugh,

I WILL get it read..like i say, Im slow but sure and I SURE

am headed to the kitchen... Nitey nite... :-)

~Puppies!~

I saw 2 of the cutest puppies today. 2 black german shepherd

pups, 6 weeks old.. Just beautiful..Both had such different

personalities and even their size was different.. The smallest

of the two, was a little female..she was so timid and shy, and

just sat quietly on my lap..whining just a little.. The other, bigger

male..well ..he was just a happy puppy..He licked my face and

was so happy and full of energy. When she set them on the

floor the male went right up to my boys..THEY didnt know what

to think..LB just sniffed and walked away, Dutch got very very

indignant..and copped a bad attitude and slapped both of

them..thank goodness not with his claws.. But he wanted NO

parts of these 2 puppies.. He still is NOT talking to me and

has me on permanent ignore I am beginning to think..for letting

these 2 DOGS invade our house..lol...

Raelynn got laundry done today and we are squeaky for the

week end.. She missed the puppies, she had just left when

the lady brought them.. I know she wanted to see them too..

She said she got a new computer last nite ..was tired of

fighting with her old one..was just too frustrating..she went

from windows 98 to xp now..and of course that will take some

getting used to but they are basically the same.. She will be

getting cable later today I think she said.. I told her I would send

her a gmail invite but reminded her that when she does all her

new mail will go into spam until she tells gmail its ok to get it..

She will mail me when she gets hooked up..A new desk and a

new computer she is all set and ready to go...Cable cannot

compare to that lousy Dial up..That is so slow..I would HATE

to have to go back to that..

We had a really bad storm the other nite..the hail was as big as

golf balls..and did quite a bit of damage I am seeing on tv..and

some of the people here with cars have damage and I a few

have some cracks in their windows .. Was really scarey for a

while..scared me anyway where I was in the bathroom.. I had

heard it earlier when I was chatting with a friend, after wards it

got even worse out.. I hope this isnt a sign that all summer we

will be getting these bad storms.. I just hate them... the boys

arent too keen on them either..

I think tomorrow I will try to work on my sewing room and get my

old computer hooked to my old monitor .they may last for a little

while..I hope the monitor does at least till I get the stuff off my

old puter..I hope i remember how to work that one lol..this one is

so different.. I think I even had a password on the old one..ohoh...

WHAT is the password??? *GULP* i may be in trouble lol... This

new monitor is so nice..I cannot believe the difference it makes in

EVERYthing... the clarity and the color are just amazing..I didnt

know I was THIS blind lol...

Lunch was its usual awful self..they sent a questionnaire for us to

say what we think about our lunches.. I DID fill it out. and I said

what I thought..they had lots of room for improvement...I really

think they could do better..At least make the food look more

presentable let alone taste better.. So needless to say You

know what I am going to say next..lol.. Yup..KITCHEN here I

COME ,,, ready or not. Let the food search begin. Nitey Nite..

I was sitting in the living room today for a while looking at the apartments next door..and noticing all the birds outside.My boys LOVE to watch the birds.. I have 2 windows in the living room on each side of the door. I keep my old tv (doesn't work) in front of the door, its on wheels.. and they use it to go back and forth from window to window. Dutch more so than LB is a bird watcher as these pictures will show you :-) LB is so laid back..he will lay all sprawled out on top the TV and watch the birds..but excited? no no..he lays there and I KNOW he just yawns and says "ho hum another bird" where Dutch jumps up and down and tries to catch them as they fly over. He gets so excited.. hes a happy little boy. If you look at that pictures you can see the apartments how close they are next door...the one below both are snoozing LB is in the back on the window sill... Dutch's favorite toy is packing tape, well ONE of them. He carries pieces around..and he even has dunked them in the toilet and brings them to me to play fetch with him...He will play fetch for hours..with a piece of tape, or a suction cup...even my make up brush that he has confiscated..if I use that he will pull it right out of my hand and take off with it... You can see the piece of tape in his mouth as hes looking out the window. You can see the car port supports that they were putting the roof on over there at the apartments.. ALL that used to be a lovely field... Dutch watches outside like a guard..He misses nothing.. If I cant find him anywhere else..he is in the window or on the TV...He keeps constant surveillance.. As you can see... The apartments next door were not finished when I took these pictures and they are taken from my sewing room when my computer was in there... Dutch misses nothing... and when he does spot something well you see what he does... is this cute or what? Look at his ears, flat on his head..Hes so ready ..if you look closely you can see a dark spot above his head, one of the birds out there...we have even had canadian geese out side..He went NUTZ when he saw them waddling down that side walk out there lol... Thats the sidewalk that goes around the outside of the whole back of the apartments.. I wish I had taken a photo of the apartments before I moved my computer back in here..I did take some with the disposable camera but I havent developed them yet...36 exposures.. thats alot of pictures lol.... When I had my computer in my sewing room it was almost impossible to keep them off of it.. This one Dutch is sitting on top of is my old one.. I still dont have it connected to my old monitor.. hmm I should and then try to hook up my old cam see if it works and then I can take pics of how those apartments look now..DUH~~!~! :-) well like I said..I'm slow but SURE :-) Since I got my new monitor I have made more room on this desk. well they STILL fight over who is going to be up here. I think I put this one here before..but you can see they both dont fit...lol... These last 2 are two of my favorites.. First is LittleBoy..hes just all relaxed. and what a sweet cat..His belly is so soft..he will lay like this in the middle of the living room floor and wait for you to come over and rub his furry little belly for him..he loves that... If Dutch knew I put this here of him I bet he would be so mad again!!! This boy just has NO class at all... As you see little things amuse us here..Today as I was coming out of the bathroom I had to give Dutch a ride..he puts his feet on my handle bars..and rides all over with me.. His attitude is changing..hes more loveable to me but he and LB have been having some awful fights that they hiss and growl at each other. LB slaps Dutch so hard..scratched and bit him the other day as well.. LB is like me-he dont take crap either!!! lol..and Dutch can be a pain in the patootie sometimes...He refuses to accept the word NO...But they do love each other..they do. Well so much for the photos of my kids..arent all parents like this tho? Showing pictures of their familys.. I have some cute old ones of Kelli and even Donnie when he was SKINNY!!! I sent a couple to him in email the other day and Dawn phoned, said "GRAN!~ hes so skinny back then.. Now hes just a big lovey teddy bear...I bet Donnie is over 200 pounds.. and Dawn? shes no bigger than a minute.. I will ask if I can put a picture of them here..I hate to with out asking first. The picture I need to see now is the INSIDE of my pantry lol... see what is in there that I may need to snack on tonite.. I made it to the bed last nite and had ALL kinds of good intentions to read more about my 3 in 1 ..ya right.. SLAM ! my eyes shut faster than if they were connected to a shut off switch :-) I was tired..I havent been taking a nap lately and getting up early so no wonder I poop out early hey? Well Im off to look at those pictures in the kitchen.. ~Hectic Day~

Hectic day today. The apartment manager Chris was here for a couple hours and I went over the lease with him and told him what I thought.. Of course he blamed it on HUD. said THEY were the ones that wanted all these rules and invasion of our privacy.. I think the explanation on why they HAVE to know who is visiting etc is "In case the building burns down, we know who all was here". ALways some excuse.. I told him I would sign the lease..but In no way was I going to inform him every time I had a guest come and stay for a day, week or even a month.. Was NO BODY's business.. and I will NOT tell him or anyone..Not that I DO have company, I dont, but its just the principle of it all. This is MY home. and because there are some that DONT value theirs makes it hard for those of us that do. Thats usually how it is. One or two can ruin it for everyone. And sadly we all have to be judged by just a few. He said that they are going to remove that first parking spot for loading reasons. It doesn't matter what reason, it needs gone. I told him- If some one in a chair accidentally hit a car, and scratched it, well who would be responsible for damages? Me or Hope? They had it so I had NO choice but to go there..Be nice when its gone.. My neighbor wont like it but oh well.. We went over everything that I had questions about. Hes ok.. but I honestly don't know if I trust him. My neighbor has told me some things.. and there was no way she could have known but from him. So I dunno but.. I maybe should have gotten him to sign this lease I have..that I scribbled on, so I would remember what to ask him. and that we had some sort of agreement.. You have to protect your self or its the "you dont like it-- MOVE" thing.. I did show him that garbage disposal again ..I honestly hate that thing.. I do.. Scares me. and its SO noisy, again. it was "you should hear some of the other ones" that's really encouraging same with the air conditioner.. Mine is supposedly the best here. so if mine goes..I can just suffer with it being like all the rest till they get around to fixing them.. LOL..see? I dunno.. I am just NOT cut out for apartment living maybe .. I don't know :-) A good friend was gone on holiday for two weeks I was so glad to know that they had returned safely and had a good one.. I keep saying I need one..and just havent gotten brave enough to take one I guess you could say. Maybe I'm just chicken lol. well cluck cluck then :-) NO I seriously have been thinking of doing that. -NO not turning into a chicken :-) getting brave and taking a trip alone. I want to take that train ride.. all I have to do is decide to where. Even if its just a round trip.. Ride, get there get on the train back , that would be ok too.. well it would save me a hotel stay :-) THATS where the cost is. I've called Amtrack..and I have some questions. If its a 2 day ride.. I cant stay in this chair for 2 days.. I really dont think I could..so that would mean my own compartment.. which that would be ok..it has a potty etc.. and it will have room service for food. BUT..its expensive to do that. If I took a shorter ride say east like to Boston..its cheaper..and I wouldn't have to have a compartment..as its not near as far..but its only a day trip almost.. so..the other is 4 days..if I did that on a shorter trip, 4 days that would mean a hotel..which I cant do that either lol.. Decisions decisions.. Maybe I will just get Kelli and Dawn and see if the 3 of us can go to the casino over by the lake lol.. I could win money maybe that way going there, not just spending . :-) I had one of my favorite sandwiches today for lunch.. Arbys Market Fresh Roast Beef and Swiss. no onion... Talk about a good sandwich.. its on home made bread even.. Its only $5.oo I think .. not too bad for as big as it is and SO GOOD.. I cleaned off the side of my desk today for these 2 cats to have a place to BOTH lay down.. so they wouldn't keep laying on my keyboard making my computer go nuts.. well fooey..They STILL lay on my keyboard.. Dutch laid on that enter key on the right side of the keyboard ..CRAP! my puter just SHUT right OFF ..talk about MAD~~!! lol I was in the middle of writing a post, lost the whole thing. I write it out first in my email program then bring my post here.. My email program has a really good spell checker lol...theres one on here but I don't know how to use it.. I only do the basic stuff on this blog I don't wanna make the blog gods unhappy .. :-) OH, that sandwich from Arbys? is HUGE.. and I still have HALF of it left..so :-) guess where I am headed? Well its right here ..but I need a soda ..lol. so Im headed my usual direction when I hit that publish thingie down there, got to have some thing to drink.. I have a emachine computer..when I first got it I had some problems with it..but they have ironed out and its running great.. Well to an extent.. For weeks now I have been trying to burn a cd. Says I have a drive for it-- J ..is my cd/rw drive. Well to do it..I use windows media player, says it will burn a cd. I do all it tells me..says put in a cd, I do then it still says its not in there.. I have tried everything and talked to everyone and their brother about it and made so many long distance calls I dread to see my phone bill.. I cant use SKYPE to call cuz you have to push all the numbers to get where you want to go.."Push 1 now" crap.. Well the guy at emachines..1st one kept me on hold for 10 minutes..I was paying for the call..Then the 2nd guy, I have his badge number, says well I have to give them $20.oo to be able to find out what the problem may be, since its out of warranty.. Well I don't have a credit card..He says..ok..send someone to the bank to get a credit card there for cash..and call back give me the number and I will help you.. Well who did he want me to send..? This is such discrimination since I don't have a credit card. All my banking is automatic..in and out.. I have NO need to go to the bank its not part of my caregivers job and with the cost of gas.. I don't think she should have to anyway. But now, since this machine was guaranteed when I got it to have a cd burner and because I didn't find out it didn't work till AFTER the warranty expired...there is not a thing I can do.. I have NO idea..I am so not good with this stuff.. I wanted to back up on cd some of my photos and stories etc..now I don't know HOW to do it OR what to do. RATZ always something :-( i don't see why they should charge for information to direct me where to go..I would tell him VERY free of charge WHERE to go..I sure felt like it lets put it that way LOL..by the time I hung up I bet he WAS ready to tell me where to go too LOL ..:-D well this really Sucks.. and I am really quite pissy about it..this has been going on for weeks now - I KNOW everyone is so tired of me asking "HEy..WHAT do I DO?" They all tried to help and didn't charge me $20.oo, thank God~!~ As many as I've asked Id be flat broke :-) Past few nights I have had the worst time to find a comfy way to lay.. I have been sleeping 95% of the time now since 2000 on my back..That's a long time.. and boy, I'll tell ya.. its gettin old I bet I fidgeted and moved stuff for an hour last night trying to find a good way to lay.. I tried my left side. well THAT is totally impossible.. I have my 2nd abdominal bypass that goes down my left side.. If I lean just right you can feel it.. I remember telling my vascular doctor that it hurt when I laid on that side.. he says " well..don't lay on that side, its cuz of the bypass" Well then I knew why it hurt when I did..he coulda told me first.. sheesh.. When I lay on my right side.. I have to really kinda lay really OVER on my side or I will flop back onto my back..with no legs to keep me on my side that's what happens.. I do put a pillow between my stumps when I lay on my right side and sometimes that does help but not for long.. With my left stump longer it puts more pressure on my hip with out the pillow and even with it sometimes it does.. I think maybe cuz of the weight? I don't know..When my leg was a whole one I guess the weight was more evenly distributed and not just concentrated in the thigh...my logic anyway.. If I didn't have all my pillows I don't think I would sleep good ANY night.. When I was in the hellhome I slept alot sitting up.. I think I was on so many drugs that sitting up I could breathe better. I had lots of pillows then too.. I have 6 on my bed now.. I use 4 of them and sit up..pile them in front of me and lean forward on them and I sleep.. really good that way for quite a few hours..It really works for me.. I have to lay back down flat then for a while my stumps will ache if I don't do the lay-flat thing at least once a day.. Usually when I finally PRY myself away from this computer I will get on my bed..and lay flat as I can..no pillows lol.. and then do like a stump lift I guess, now :-) and I move them around and up and down.. I remember trying to do leg lifts.. ya ..I did NOT do too many..like this its no problem at all. I do these exercises every day.. the PT guy at the hellhome told me that I NEED to do this to keep them flexible and it has kept them that way. They move quite easily and I would think as long as I keep moving them as if I were walking and exercising will be the same as if I did have my legs and exercise was good for them.. helps with the muscle control too.. I bet if I didn't do these at all I would have NO muscle tone at all and even with doing what I am I can see the muscle has deteriorated as soft as they are.... When I did walk they were firm..and had good muscle tone.. I always had GEORGEOUS legs.. lol I guess I still do..short but hey... still purty little things :-) Lunch today was a chef's salad..wasn't too bad.. I had to cut up everything, egg, tomato , lettuce the ham and cheese were already shredded..I only wish they would send other kind of dressing other than Buttermilk.. or Ranch.. They are NOT my favorite.. Italian or French.. Those are my favs..I like 1000 island too tho... The salad was really good, it didn't get here till 2:05. Just is NOT lunch time. I know it throws the people off kilter here..and we live the closest to where they deliver from.. Just amazes me lol. But the salad was good and I just PICKED out the carrots and green pepper.. :-) I had some french dressing in the fridge and it was really was one of the better lunches that they offer. The Italian stuff is great..chili too. Well...Its that time and I'm gonna go PICK out a snack and see if I can read some more of this manual for the 3 in 1 ..I didn't make it very far last nite..Well I didn't have a nap yesterday and I was tired before i laid down so I knew I wouldn't last and Sure Nuff.. I zoned OUT .. woke at 2 and shut the TV off and moved Dutch's butt from my face again.. Kids.. :-) He loves me what can I say.. :-) Nitey Nite ... :-) Y'all have a good one now Y'hear? Strange lately, I've been hearing from some people that I havent heard from in a long long time, I'm glad to hear, its really nice.. I was upset before when they left, with no word.no bye,no reason... and I did NOT know what I had done that this happened.. It really DOES hurt alot.. specially if you care about them . And I do care about all my friends. Some different ways than others, but I care and I worry about them. I want them to be happy and if they cant be when they are in contact with me..well then to part ways some times is best.. but that 'bye' sure does help. To say hello once in awhile, there is nothing wrong with that at all. Lots of my friends know if they dont yell "HEY" every few weeks or days sometimes I DO get a bit pissy lol.. no- not really. I just worry. I think thats my middle name. I worry about everything. When someone says they have something to tell me I usually ask if its something I need to worry about. But, I was really GLAD to hear from them.. I was...kinda made my day.. I wasnt real happy with some of the news but it was good to chat again. And who knows they may get in touch again. Im always around. (aint that the truth.. I'm A round..lol) :-D Raelynn came today and we are squeakin again..She went to the store and got some more paper for my printer.. It works so good.. I have to read up on it.. I tried to read some last nite after I logged off here and well I made the mistake of laying on my bed to do it. AND fooey. A book will put me to sleep faster than the TV!! Ya, so I didn't get alot read.But what I do remember reading this baby can do alot.. I just wish I could figure out the negative thing and get some of these negatives printed or to mess with that old 8mm film..I have it on VCR but I would like it on cd and to take snapshots off it.. I know it can be done but I just dont think this machine can do it..I bet I find out tho.lol.. Raelynn said she got her new desk all put together, did it herself and its bigger than mine..I know that was a job..thank goodness Donnie put this together...I never could have done it.. well maybe- but sure wouldnt have been easy ..lol... probly taken me a year too!! Its been so hot here, in the 90's this AC just is working its patootie off. It just is NOT meant to cool 5 rooms..The cool just barely reaches back here..I need some of those clip on fans that I could use to draw the air back .. My poor electric bill..but I have NO choice if I dont keep a little cool I just cannot breathe at all..The past few hot days like this, I turn it on a lower cool but keep it running and hope the thermostat works ok in it.. Chris, the APT manager says mine is the best in the building..well I feel sorry for those other people that live here then. I bet they have NO cool at all...Mine barely works. Chris said we are lucky to have them anyway as when they built these they didnt but some nice person donated them to the building..I am sure glad.. We have a nice community room down the hall from me where anyone that lives here can use it for a party or what ever..has huge table and a kitchen area..2 couches..it used to have a computer and a televison.. well they both got stolen, and the couch got cut up with a knife and some one even tried to burn it down..Joys of apartment living.. That just shows no respect or any kind of gratefulness..Maybe those that felt they had to steal the things needed them more than we did here.. but to destroy the couch and try to burn it up? uncalled for.. Sometimes they want these apartments rented out so bad they dont do real good checks on the ones they rent to. A while back they rented the apt across the hall from me and HOLY CRAP.. I never heard people argue and scream so bad in all my life..Turned out it was a brother and sister lived there..So they didnt evict them just gave the brother his own apartment so now we get to listen to them scream at each other as they go from his to her apartment.. They should screen better and dont..There is a waiting list to get in these as they really are the nicest HUD housing in the area..the best kept ..and not 100 of them here.. The guy next door, well one of these days,, I am going to have to tell him myself about that stereo..Apparently Chris is NOT going to..I called the office 4 times last week and got not that first reply.. Good management..Says in our lease hes only here on a part time basis.. sheesh... Was funny Raelynn brought me my lunch from COA..she says "Lois.. look at this..what the HELL is it???" I looked..Laughed..and honestly? I had to look at the printed menu to be able to say what it was.. It was chicken and biscuit..well I mean..ive seen that before and it looked good..this? well I told her.."Looks like its already been eaten, THROW it away".. She went to KFC (kentucky fried chicken) and they have these new Bowls..has mashed potatoes, corn, chicken pieces, and gravy all over it.. You can get cheese..but I dont.. i get double gravy of course :-)..well its really good..but it has to have double gravy and its JUST enough..could use a bit more but its ok..Its really good and I guess if you like cheese..its good too.. I like cheese..but my stomach doesnt and I have to make sure if I absolutely HAVE To eat cheese its gonna be some really good Amish cheese...lol..and it has to be a day when I am not real busy..know what I mean? lol... Well I have a letter to write to my cousin June..I want to see if she will send me the addys of the family in England and also my cousin Nancys addy and phone number...Plus i did a couple old photos for her as well.. I know she will like them.. its of her and her family..She lost her husband in 89.. alot of my family died that year..2 uncles..1 cousins..and 1 aunt.. and of course my dad... was not a good year..Its time to click on that line down there that says PUBLISH..and close this for another day, get a soda and maybe some crackers might be good, I love Ritz to BiTz nitey nite :-) Y'all have a good one Y'hear? This is one of my favorite photos of my Dad. Its with my cousin

Willard. My parents never could have their own children, why they

adopted Gayle and I... But look at the smiles..on both of their faces.

Willard still lives up there in the UP and I know my Dad was one of his

favorite people..well both my parents loved him and his sister Beatrice

and of course Larry.. The photo I put on a while back of me and Larry

in that kids parade..well this is his older brother. Willard still has a huge

farm. I last heard that Larry has the home place where they grew up just

down the road from Willards. The one with the private lake-great spot.

This is my Grandfather, on my Dads side.. His name was Irwell..and he

was a surveyor..Did most of the roads in the UP..he made maps.. This

photo was one I think they used for up in M I T in Houghton his alma

mater... Lots of his works are up there..I have 3 mining books I plan to

donate to them or to the Iron County Museum, Very interesting books. He

made the family tree that is MOST interesting-took him 20 years to do it

but he traced the family back to when they landed in Salem from one of

the boats back there in the 1400's.. ITs a wonderful thing to read ...

This photo was taken from a magazine thats why its so furry..But if

you look over to the right you can see the desk I wrote the story about

on my bravenet site.. the link is on the right over there. He was a big

man and very proper... VERY respected..I think that thing on his desk is

a sexton? or something its called lol..Im not sure. This is how he always

dressed.. a tie and suspenders..and when he had his suit on he had a

pocket watch that hung across in front. I have the watch. I plan to give it to

my cousin Ronnie to pass down to his sons. Ronnieis my cousin.The son

of my dad's brother Richard..

Isnt this a great photo...This is my grandpa Wales.. look at the

furniture. he even has the chain and pocket watch. I think this was

taken in the UK,not here, but I dont know as it wasnt dated. Its not a

normal kind of picture its very thick..old kind...wasnt he just a handsome

man? such a kind face...

This is how I remember Grandpa..Such a dear man.. I still can taste

that licorice he shoved in my mouth..and can see him sitting in his

chair listening to his baseball games that he loved.. He walked alot

all over the hills behind their house.. He left for a sunset walk one

evening, to go to those places he would sit and look out over the town

below.. thats where they found him the next morning, that was in 56 i

think..or 57 not real sure.. This is Sidney Wales, My grandpa.....

This is Dad..with his favorite Jeep..a Willys. see the front board? was for

pushing cars and for his plow..This Jeep had 4 on the floor.. and a clutch

and brake and gas pedal.. and THIS is the jewel that I LEARNED to

drive in.. Yup..4 on the floor and I could shift that thing so you would NEVER

feel a tug even.. Dad taught me well.. Only problem I had were the gas and

clutch were kinda rounded and at 15 I wasnt very tall..my feet kept slipping

off ..so Dad made this like grippy rubber thing he would put over them for

me so when he took me driving my feet didnt slide off..By the time I got to

drivers ed in school (at 16) I knew how to drive..just had to get used to using

a column shift.. that was easy..1 less gear to contend with.. lol.. Dad had a

jeep up until he died in 89..when mom told me "daddy sold the jeep" I knew

Dad KNEW ..or he would never have sold it.. Dad died in 89..at 80 years

old and worked up until then..

This is his garage, its where he spent half his life. If you look out the window

you can see the snow outside. The big furnace was a coal one at one time but

he converted it to a wood stove. I remember when I got my house in Indiana, it

had a wood stove and I hated that thing. I could NEVER keep it going.. So I

would call him "DADDY! I can't keep the wood burning!" he told me all sorts of

tricks to keep that fire hot and burning-saved me alot of grief let me tell ya. The

ladder there on the left went up to the attic..he kept all sorts of stuff up there..it

was warm and dry so he stored his hunting and fishing stuff there. I wish I

had a dollar for every time I climbed that ladder to go snooping around lol...

Dad was a fisherman, hunter and LOVED the outdoors..always said he

lived in the best place in the world. He was ready to go fishing.. My Uncle

Stanley took this photo..My Aunt Ethel is on the left, his wife (this is Grandpa's

brother) then my mom and then mom's mom..Gramma Wales... See the car?

was a Nash Rambler station wagon..Red and white.. 1963 this was taken...

This picture is so damaged..but this was one of Dads favorite spots.. I put

a photo of Bond Falls a while back.. this is that place.. He has his waders on

and was in his glory when he had a fishing pole in his hand, or a gun he loved

to hunt as well..ski..swim.. just loved the outdoors.. I found a puzzle once that

looked just like this photo..over the years its disappeared. I had it on my wall

for a long time..with this photo by it.. got damaged i think in the last move.

This is my Dad, he taught me many valuable life lessons..he was a wise,

honest and smart man.. He taught me well.. I would not be the person I am

today with out him...Isnt he just a dear?This was him... Ralph was his name

he died of cancer in 1989..Happy Father's Day Daddy, I know where you are.

well im done with this journey down memory lane.. I am tired..and have not

eaten if you really Knew how long it took me to decide which pictures to use

you would laugh at me if you saw all the photos I have.. I could write a story

about every one of them. Now all I have to decide is what I want to eat lol..

THATS not as hard to decide thank goodness!!! :-) nitey nite!

~Things Mothers Keep~

I have found some things that have just made me laugh.. I cannot believe all the things that my mother had saved all those years.. EVEN my report cards !!! There are 4 envelopes , from my first 4 years.. with locks of my hair in them.. (wish I had that color now). I was so bad about writing notes.. I think I have written all my life.!. Mom kept the notes I would write to her while we were in Church..had to be quiet in there, so she gave me a small tablet and I would write notes to her during the service one says.. 'I wish I was home' .. I know she had to have smiled when she got that one lol... One I think I asked what we were going to eat as we were going to go out to eat after church..lol.. I even drew the pictures... I wrote notes all the time-I didn't know she kept all this stuff. Such great memories. even the report cards from school..well I didn't mind seeing them as I did really good in school..I think I liked the challenge of learning. I very seldom really even studied, I would read the night before and highlight the major stuff then the next morning before the test I would read just the highlighted parts that I needed to know ..worked good for me...I always have liked to learn tho.. I think that's why I like the challenge of this computer and all it can do... I was reading the book of my 3/1 and some of the things it can do and boy I am really impressed.. I did notice all the different slots for memory cards in the front..but I had NO idea that I could print out a real photo..on shiny paper even...this is such FUN~~! I printed out so much stuff yesterday that I ran out of paper..lol..I wanted to start on this book I want to do and I have to start somewhere and not real sure I know exactly WHAT to do so I am just gonna have to play it by ear and hope its right and I can get a book published, then maybe I will be rich and famous ! that would be ok :-) I get a book done..then hmmm...maybe I could take that trip to Europe.. I know so many people overseas that I would just LOVE to meet.. It would be such great fun..and I thought well London most everyone maybe could get there and come and meet me.. I told my friend Momar..that I would take up a collection to try to get enough for a trip to London.. lol.. well that may be the ONLY way I could get over there..I do know so many people in the UK and Germany, Norway, Sweden, all over Europe. and it WOULD be so nice to visit and meet them all... I would LOVE to find my family there in the UK...share photos etc.. I am sure they would have some of my grandparents.. Raelynn said she would go with me too.. I told her again yesterday its time to start playing the lottery.. :-) she agreed.. now all we have to do is do it, and of course WIN :-) It is SO HOT here today, in the 90's ..storm predicted for tonite.. The joys of summer-- Heat and Storms. I really don't like either.. I can fix the problem with the heat by turning on my AC, but I can't solve the problem of the storms. All I can do is just wait them out and hope when and if things get bad I can get the boys into the bathroom with me and that if the only left here is us in the bathroom that would be ok.. I just hope the hurricanes arent too bad this year that one last year just about drove everyone nutz..not just those in it but those of us that saw all the chaos and destruction.. those poor animals. I had to quit looking at it. Just broke my heart.. Poor innocent victims.. and not a thing they could do.. so much tragedy not just for the animals..for the people as well.. I dont think I would move back there myself.. ONE time going thru something like that would be enough for me I think..then color me gone.. I would NOT go back. I did a dummy today, I did a face down digger on my bed. I was in a hurry, the phone rang and was over by my computer..I had to hurry and get into my chair before it stopped ringing..well- I have a tin..that I am keeping my photos in and its here on the end of my bed.. well I was in that rush.. my skirt got hemmed up and sort of I guess tripped me so to speak, and I went forward..just like a weeble..and I smacked my forehead on that box.. why it HAD to be right in the way of my face I have NO idea..but I don't think I could have placed it in a better spot if I tried.. No damage but I did laugh at my self.. I know I have to look like such a NUT when I do that, the boys look at each other as if to say "you SEE this woman??" I know they laugh at me.. I wonder if cats laugh.? :-) I bet if they can- I KNOW mine laugh at me.. I bet they NEVER stop lol... I didn't do a whole lot today, I got up early tho.6:30 early for a saturday morning... I didn't do a whole lot other than play with pictures and deciding which I want to put here tomorrow.. Its just so hard to decide WHICH ones lol... I have no trouble with photos of me, as they are ALL GORGEOUS..but all these others..well..everyone else really is too..well not as beautimous as me but close :-) lol... I have a few of those great strawberries left and I plan to finish them off. only a few weeks till the first of the month then I can get some more.. I love those things.. and YESSSS the lid is ON the sugar lol... Time to finish this AND those strawberries and hit publish.... Nitey nite ! :-) Y'all have a good one now Y'hear?
