~Squirrely Corn~ :-)

Squirrels love corn. I watched 2 of them yesterday

fight over who was gonna get on top where that ear

was.. Finally one ran the other off and he stayed up

there until he ate almost every kernel and THEN he

took the cob with him.. He was so fast and when they

do that and catch me off guard I don't get the photo..

But I had a good time watching him... The only one he

couldn't fight off were the blue jays.. They dove at

him with a vengeance and he left for a while, but he

came back and fought off the others :-) That corn

was his! :-)
Watching them reminded me of how much I enjoyed

that field outside my window before I got a computer.

I sat all day, every day, watching the birds and the

ground hogs, I also remember the pain of that year.

I'm really glad that I mainly remember that field...:-)

I wish I could forget the pain... Was a horrible year.

Maybe seeing all these great things outside are a way

to remind me of the nice things, and that hasnt changed,

they are still there if you look for them....
Was a quiet day yesterday and I really didn't do too

much of anything once I closed this computer down.

There is a channel I found by accident that I didn't

know I had, well they don't tell you.. and I never did

get a listing of the channels I get.. But I found this

channel that has some pretty good movies.. And I

would rather watch something that has no commercials.

I cant stand them..They advertise so many different

things and NOTHING is sacred any more.. They have

ads for everything.. Stuff they would have NEVER

allowed to be on the radio or a billboard much less in

a movie! ..

I can remember that western Jane Russell was in.. I

don't remember the name of it.. But there was the

biggest stink about it because of her blouse and you

could see things that they felt were NOT to be seen..

Nowdays if there isnt a sex scene in a movie they feel

no one will go to see it... To me that isnt what makes a

movie. That's whats so bad about today, they leave

NOTHING to the imagination...

Today is a do nothing again day.. I still never did get

my table cleared off.. or finish the dish cloth and hot

pad I started.. I have not accomplished one thing I

set out to do.. I just talked myself right out of it...I

have a tendency to do that... It was the squirrels

fault :-) I HAD to watch them and the birds... :-)

~Rainy Aches~

Its a very gloomy rainy day and I sure feel it.. I'm

lazy and tired and both stumps feel like theyre gonna

explode.. I guess its cuz of the change in humidity or

something.. I bet if I stuck a pin in them I would fly

around the room like a balloon.. Wouldn't THAT be a

cute sight ? :-) But that's how tight they feel.. To

touch they don't feel swollen or to look at them.. but

that's how they FEEL to me... Its NOT a good feeling

and some times makes them really ache..


I was diagnosed with severe arthritis in my feet and

legs and in my shoulders and upper arms back in 90,

when I went to the doctor in Green Bay about my sore

heels and feet.. She said back then that in 10 years or

so I would be in a wheelchair because of the arthritis

in my feet was so bad.. She was right about me being

in a chair but not because of arthritis...

I do think that's what has settled in the remaining leg

bones though. How could it not? If you sprain or break

a leg or foot or what ever, hand, arm.. arthritis will set

in and I think that's a lot of the problem for amputees

as far as phantom pain too.. I bet arthritis could be the

cause of a lot of it... I'm just guessing but it makes sense

to me.. And I KNOW it HURTS :-)

Its raining today and I was so surprised to see the sucker

truck out there sucking up leaves! I guess it doesn't really

matter that the leaves are wet but I would think it would

sort of muck up that truck or the hose!.. They were picking

up Carls yesterday and I saw where the truck had to go

and empty out and then came back and got the rest.. Its

kinda windy today so maybe all the remaining leaves will

fall and Carl and Joyce will only have one last time to have

to rake, and blow and suck up the leaves.. 2 weeks they

have been doing this. I bet theyre ready to take a 5 !

Penny put a nice beef roast in the oven for me today and

in a few hours it should be ready .. :-) I KNOW its gonna

have some great gravy cuz she put in a package of gravy

mix, McCormicks is the best, and onion and 2 small

potatoes. It will be done in a couple hours.. She has the

oven on only 300 as I am not in any big hurry to eat right

now...later on I will be ready for it when I am logged off

this puter and ready to watch TV. About 3 or so.... Ive

really not had that much of an appetite lately and I don't

really know why.. But that does keep the weight down ! :-)

Time to post and finish cleaning my table in the kitchen...

I started it yesterday and I didn't do it all.. so today I

need to put it ALL away... Plus I need to call my sis and

tell her I have her doilie that Penny made.. I didn't call

yesterday I spaced THAT out and just fergot :-) Well

this GORGEOUS WEEBLE wont ferget tho to warn ya ,

~Only 2 Months Left~

The past few days, well in fact, most of this week,

Ive not done too much of anything... I blame it on my

arms and hands being almost useless and that they

ache, or I blame it on these thyroid pills not going

into effect fast enough.. But I think what it really is,

is that I'm just totally tired, all the way into my

deepest innerds :-) This last half of this year has

really been stressful.. And whats bad is that some

of it may carry over into next year... you realize

that NEXT year is only 2 months away?
This rent increase crap is NOT settled... even tho

I am assured "Do NOT Worry"... I still do...So if

its NOT settled it could just keep going on and on.

which will mean its a daily stress for me. As bad as

this state is getting, everyone is worried as to what

they will cut next... What if they cut our food stamps?
THAT would be most awful... I worry about the price

of gas... although I have been told it will be cheaper

this winter.. My furnace has been running now every

day, and I know my gas bill has probly tripled.. I should

get it in a few days.. then I will know pretty much what

is ahead as far as what that bill will be the rest of this

winter.. I have my thermostat set on 66 now.. If I get

cold I put on a sweater... :-) Cheaper than turning up

the heat :-)
Isnt that neat? Dunno what kinda bird.. :-)

I don't have any plans for today and no one is due to be

here. So I may clean my table off in the kitchen. Its a

mess.. Plus I have some projects that I started that I

need to finish.. like the dishcloth I'm knitting and the pot

holder I am crocheting :-) I don't have much to finish on

them so it shouldn't take too long if I just stick to it till

theyre finished :-) Penny crocheted my sister a doiley,

and brought it yesterday.. its just beautiful... She does

such great work.. shes very talented...Shirley will love it.

The boys are fighting and I will have to break it up.. Dutch

of course started it, he wanted to lay on the towel that's

on the couch... He bites LB's neck and then that makes LB

wheeze.. His asthma or what ever he has is not getting any

better, and when Dutch bites him that sure doesn't help..

Then- LB gets so mad and runs after him and the fight

is on again.. once he gets his breathe back :-) Dutch has

too much energy but he is a happy cat :-)

Time to post and to get some lunch so I can take my pills.

And this GORGEOUS WEEBLE needs to accomplish some

thing today :-) I'm gonna try anyway :-) But ... "I SHALL

~Daily Battle With Leaves~

Carl has had a daily battle with the leaves.. I was

really afraid yesterday when I saw him up there on

his roof.. They can be so slippery.. That roof was

just covered in leaves.. bad thing is all he did yesterday

its all back today ! He and Joyce worked in my yard too.

All the leaves were gone last evening.. Today? Well they

are back.. That leaf sucker upper truck has its work cut

out for it.. Just on these streets here I bet will fill that

truck..
I had the best time this morning, well so did Penny and

the boys.. We had so many birds out side it was amazing.

I counted 6 doves and 2 Jays, a cardinal and the wood

pecker not counting dozens of those little guys.. It is

just so nice watching them.. I'm glad I had Penny get

that corn on the cob.. The wood pecker was fighting

with the jay over it for a while.. Penny is still looking

for a pumpkin...I think the squirrels will like that . The

ear of corn that Penny took off Monday and put on the

ground I watched as squirrley hauled it off in his

mouth.. I tried to get a photo but he grabbed that corn

and ran as fast as he could up in to that pine tree, and

I'm just slow with this camera.. Think I would be used

to it by now.. I have to give it back to Penny so she can

take photos of her grands all dressed up for Halloween.

Theyre all excited about it...I sent some candy for Penny

to give to them...
I had a surprise visit yesterday from Sandra with DHS..

my caseworker Laima is out on sick leave, broke her arm

or something.. It was my 6 month check in.. Sandra said

she has over 500 clients she has to take care of .. AND

she said there are NO funds for APS, they usually get

about $10,000 to use to help clients.. They got 0 this time.

This state is seriously broken.. Even our schools have

had their budgets cut .. This gov we have.. well she could

do better.. I bet if she and all the reps we have for the

countys and the congressmen, all took pay cuts and that

money put to help the rest in this state we would not have

ANY cut backs.. She hasnt thought of that. This state is

in BAD shape.. its really sad.. :-(

We are all clean and ready for a few more days. We got,

well no, PENNY got the boys some new treats and theyre

happy, they have been pouty since Mark left. He paid a lot

of attention to them.. These new treats help.. They have

been sticking to me like glue lately, so I have been spoiling

them even more :-) Theyre worth it :-)...

Time to post and DO something today, what, I dunno, but

I'm sure I can find something to do :-) First I need some

lunch and I dunno what that is gonna be either :-) What

I DO know is its post time and for my GORGEOUS
WEEBLE... "I shall return!"

~I Got No Energy~

I have the ambition to want to do or make something..BUT

I have no energy.. Isnt that the pits? :-) I want to DO

something.. make something.. then I TRY to sew or even

crochet a simple potholder or knit one of my dish cloths..

My hands quit working, my arms start aching, my butt

gets tired of sitting.. Jeeezzz I'm in bad shape here ! :-)

This gets to me after a while though.. Really does.. I DO

want to DO something.. even if its wrong.. :-) I NEED to

do something.. :-)

I would like to sew, yes, but I don't think I could finish

anything I started.. and I hate that... to have a half done

what ever.. I would like to do a quilt..but that is a huge

project.. I THINK I could do it.. with Pennys help though..

Shes here 3 days a week.. and shes kinda strapped for

Christmas gifts for all her grands, so I thought quilts

would be a good project for her and I, and help each

other to do it.. Shes not that experienced a sewer.. but

would like to learn.. and I CAN teach her.. I know some

quick shortcuts to quilting that can help us both.. :-)

Ive been taking my thyroid but I still see no increase

in my energy level.. Maybe once they really kick in I'll

have the energy PLUS the ambition .. I would have

thought they would have made SOME difference, but

I feel no better OR worse.. I feel the same as before.

I do KNOW I'm sure tired of being tired... This feeling

can go away.. The past few months have taken their toll

on me as well I think besides this thyroid stuff.. Stress

can tear a person up in more ways than one.. Specially

if you have MORE than your share.. Sometimes I feel

that I have my share and about 6 other people's share

of stress.. I hope they appreciate it.. :-)

I cant think of anything more to write about.. I bet you

are glad and tired of reading my whiney stuff.. :-) I

will get better, time heals everything... My sis phoned

and they made it back home safely.. was a VERY rough

trip however, the car broke down, Stan got sick.. she

was VERY glad to be home.. We are glad theyre back.

Ive not heard how Dawn is but I am hoping she is ok,

Other than that all is well here ... Could be a nicer day

outside, but I'm safe and warm.. AND a GORGEOUS
WEEBLE :-)

~Scanner Problems~ :-(

I'm having trouble with my printer, scanner or what

ever it is.. I use it to get the photos off my camera

card and for some reason it has decided today was

the day to mess with me and give me a hard time..

Its Monday so its a nice way to start off the week.

:-) Its a HP and I very seldom have bad trouble with

it, but today it kept telling me memory card error and

I needed to update my HP Essentials, what ever THAT
is.. I looked but I didn't and don't like to do updates..

Every time ive followed the "it is recommended" I got

in trouble.. I found that out with my Mozilla and my

incredimail.. NEVER UPDATE! Get a version you like,

stick to it and Don't mess with it.. OR the settings :-)
I had a friend that would get bored and she would get

on line and when she couldn't find anyone to talk to she

would go and look at stuff she had NO business getting

into.. She would click on this and that and then forget

what the original settings were, then wonder why her

computer was acting up all the time.. Many, many times

I told her. Most times if I have trouble with something

I ask Google.. Hes the smartest one to ask.. Usually he

will lead me in the right direction to solve my problems..

If that doesn't work THEN I contact a few friends that

I KNOW are puter geniuses. I feel bad that Marys puter

is down.. I wish I could win the lottery, I would buy you

a new puter My friend :-) Anyone out there, has a spare.

Mary sure could use one :-)

The cardinal paid us a visit today, he is so pretty.. I sure

enjoy seeing all these birds.. Do you see the cat in the 2nd

photo? Look right in the center... That's one of the garden

lady's cats.. He was on his way over to Joyce's birdfeeder.

He is hard to see cuz he matches the leaves so well. :-)

Penny came today and put on some cabbage and kolbassi.with

onion of course. In the slow cooker- easier to cook. I was gonna

fry it but my arms are not in the best condition today to steady

stir that, so this is the next best way.. I love cabbage.. Its

set on high so it will be done this afternoon...THEN I will have

a taste :-) So.. its still post time and time for my GORGEOUS
WEEBLE ... "I shall return"... :-)

~Toe Pains~

Two Jays ~ :-)

Ive been getting these really hurting stabbing pains

in my invisible big toes. on both of my invisible feet.

Not at the same time however.. I notice if I sit the

wrong way or put too much weight on just one hip

that the opposite big toe will hurt.. Well, its not

really my big toe but that sort of wide spot just

below, the ball of your foot I guess it is.. Like the

wide spot at the base of your thumb..
The leaves are back.. Joyce's tree is so pretty..

Well I don't know what I was doing wrong yesterday,

when I was trying to find something good to watch

on TV, I was putting too much weight on one side or

something cuz my big toe, well just below it, would

get this stab of pain that was in spurts kinda where

it would HURT, then stop, then HURT again.. It just

kept on and on no matter what I did.. Not ONE thing

helped...
Leaves in the front.. Leaves EVERYWHERE ! :-)

I sat there for a few and I HAD to do some

thing to get it to at least ease up.. so I grabbed the

end. of it, my left. I put my fingers where I could feel

the flat end of the bone.. I kinda pushed on that,

to remind it that "HEY .. NOTHING PAST HERE!!"

It WORKED!!! the more pressure I put the faster

it stopped.. Boy, I was happy ! Its not come back

since.. And the right hasnt hurt since either.. so..

maybe that's the trick to it.. I have to jog my

GORGEOUS WEEBLE brain that the leg is gone!

I'm glad it worked.. and if it does start up again,

I hope that will work again ! :-) If it doesn't I

will just keep experimenting to see what does!
And what works for me wont necessarily work

for someone else... That's the joys of all of us

being different.. what makes ANY of us experts

on any of this stuff, its a learn as you go thing as

far as I'm concerned.. I learn something new just

about every day.. I'm grateful I still can LEARN!!! :-)

I told ya there was moren 2 jays out there.. I

finally got a photo. There was a 3rd on the ground

but by the time I zoomed back out he was gone...

They are so fast... Beautiful birds and they LOVE
that corn on the cob.. But not the one on the ground!
The one up on that stand they eat... I dunno why they

wont eat the other, they get on the ground to get

the bird seed.. Go figure .. :-)

I think the Packers play today, I missed the last

quarter of the last game, I took a little snooze.. I

dunno if they play today or not I will have to look

the schedule up... I want to call Donnie to find out

how Dawn is.. She got hurt at work and I guess

had complications, so Donnie only living a few

houses away she called him to take her to the ER.
I hope shes ok..

Lunch time for this GORGEOUS WEEBLE.. I havta

eat so I can take that thyroid pill.. I may fry some

fish.. I don't know.. I always find something :-) So,

~New Ramp In the Neighborhood~

Look closely at that green house.. at the front .. I did

not notice that ramp out there before.. Maybe they

just put it in.. I just don't remember seeing it which

makes me think it is fairly new.. I saw a truck down

there a few weeks back and couldn't figure out what

they were doing and I guess that may have been it..
Ive not seen anyone use it YET... I have seen the

ramp guy. Yesterday I saw him..
His girlfriend came out of the house or trailer is what

it really is.. She took his walker and went in front of him.
They were over there the other day working on his

ramp and I think they put a railing on both sides and on

the steps.. I watched him as he gingerly stepped on his

prosthetic and went down the ramp... He did quite well,

but to me, he still did not look comfortable with his leg.

That it hurt him to walk on it... But he did good..

Ive watched the progress hes been making and I'm no

expert since I don't have or want a prosthetic, but I

can see an improvement.. Hes not only depending on the

walker now hes brave enough to just use the railings..

My friend BB that was a dak in the hellhome, I watched

him when he got his first leg, they only gave him one at

a time. He never used them once he got out of there. He

said they were a pain to put on and he was faster in his

chair :-) He preferred to zip around in that...

It is a horribly rainy and cold and wet ACHEY day.. My

big toe on my left foot is hurting so bad.. It gets these

stabbing pains in it and there is not ONE thing I can do..

My arms and hands, well I am just being very careful

what I pick up or hold.. When I have my coffee I put

my hands over top of it to warm them sometimes they

are so cold when I get up in the morning, like my arms

and shoulders. I know its the arthritis too. Just the

beginning and the joys of winter.. I'm glad I have lots

of sweaters :-)

Its lunch time and I'm kinda hungry I have to eat so I

can take my thyroid pill.. I havent decided what I want

to eat YET.. :-) I will find something...I always do :-)

~Was In MY Tree?~ :-)

Joyce and Carl worked out in my yard yesterday. But

Joyce got to ride the mower and pick up leaves with

that.. Steve and Lisa had to come out to clean up the

dog poopies, why they don't pick it up when they let

their 2 dogs out I don't understand but oh well...not

my worry.. I have enough of my own.. :-)
This tree on the side of the house had some branches

that hung too low and I knew that Carl was gonna trim

it up so they didn't hit Joyce.. A few minutes later I

heard my back door bell ring and Joyce was standing

there to show me what Carl had cut out of the tree...

Isnt that just amazing?? Look how BIG that hive is...
Joyce said she is gonna give it to her granddaughter

to take to school.. It had a honeycomb in it. Should be

most interesting for school.. I hadnt seen a hive that

big in a long time.. I had NO idea it was even out there.

I showed these 2 photos to Joyce and told her I was

putting them here :-) So I got permission.. :-)
Today is rainy and cold and ickky.. 2 days ago was in the

70's.. This is good flu weather.. The schools are closing

and I heard the gov give a really awful notice about how

the budget is being cut for schools...All these state and

government officials think of all these ways to take things

away from us.. NONE of them offer to take a pay cut..

Why don't they ever consider that? I live on less than

700 a month, yet these people need hundreds of thousands

to live? Why doesn't the Pres go without his paycheck for

a year? Doesn't cost him anything to live but he needs a

pay check? :-) Well as long as they don't cut mine I'm ok..

And once I turn 65 theres no telling what they will do.
That's not till January yet they have already got me on this

medicare or caid stuff messing with my pills.. kinda jumping

the gun I think. Its hard to know what to do to protect

yourself..

The next thing I DO know that this GORGEOUS WEEBLE

is gonna do is post this and stay warm and dry :-) It is

Friday and any kinda drama can wait now till Monday! :-)

~The Leaf Sucker Truck~

Theres the leaf sucker truck. That black hose is like a big

vacuum cleaner and sucks all the leaves into it then

into the back of the truck.. Doesn't take long.. I took

this yesterday and I noticed that truck was out on

the streets today as well.. The leaves are only just

now starting and Carls' yard, well doesn't look like

they spent one whole afternoon out there.. The

ground is covered again.. It looks like its snowing

leaves some times, but it is pretty...
The view out the west window is just wonderful

as you see.. This tree right here next to the house

is almost totally turned but not quite.. Its the same

kind of maple that was at the little house.. Its so

nice to see all the different colors and some like

the weeping willow and the pines stay green... The

willow will turn but not as fast as the others..
Across the street, the corner house, you see they

have pumpkins on the steps to the house.. I had to

smile when I saw how chewed up they were, then I

remembered the squirrels that live over in those

trees.. That day I saw them climbing all over their

front door, I was secretly kinda hoping someone

would open it, I wanted to see what the squirrels

would do .. :-) ok, AND whomever opened that door!
I think I am gonna have Penny get a pumpkin to put

out back by the birdbath.. I decided to keep it out

there this winter for the birds to have water. I

know it will freeze but Penny comes every other day

so it will be thawed sometimes too... I am anxious to

see who eats the pumpkin. I bet the Jays will too..
They sure like the corn on the cob.. Ive still not seen

the squirrels go after it... Maybe cuz of the Jays, they

can be mean...

The house I had in ELkhart, by the lake, I had a nest

of jays in the big tree by the back of the house.. My

cat Skeeter knew it and he stalked that tree daily hoping

to find them away from the nest.. One of the jays was

always on guard.. When they would see that cat, he was

a HUGE black one, they would dive bomb him.. till that

cat would scream! The claws of the jays could be seen

as they hit him ! What ever you call bird claws :-)

Ive seen other places where they have done the same

thing... I guess they don't like squirrels either.. :-)

Well its time to get something done for today, stop the

boys from fighting for one thing.. They fight over a

place to sit or lay .. mainly on the couch... or a sunny spot.

I'm kinda hungry and have some left over spaghetti from

yesterday.. I have to eat to take these thyroid.. Ive still

not noticed a change in my energy level.. sure wish it

would hurry up.. This GORGEOUS WEEBLE needs some

more energy for sewing since its almost Christmas!!!! :-)

Not far! As fast as time is going.. just blink.. it will be

~Lotsa Birds Today!~ :-)

Today, well this morning,what a nice time I had watching

all the visitors. Bird ones that is.. :-) 4 blue jays, 2 cardinals,

the woodpecker, 4 doves and the chickadees or what ever

those little guys are.. Those ears of corn have drawn the

blue jays till they were actually fighting over it.. The one

was really guarding them and would try to chase the others

away.. The cardinal was in and out so fast I was surprised
I got a photo of him at all... :-) The woodpecker he took

his sweet time chomping at both ears of corn and just

hopped around the yard for a while ... The birds were

quite happy today... And needless to say I was most

pleased to see them out there...
Joyce and Carl spent most of yesterday afternoon

chasing, well no.. blowing leaves.. Poor Joyce I watched

her, her blower, well neither of theirs had shoulder

straps that would have made them so much easier to

carry, Joyce was steady switching from hand to hand..

She did a lot of them then Carl took over to make the

last sweep of them to the side of the road.. Now I think

that big vacuum truck will come and suck them up into it

and take them off for compost I would imagine.. I dunno.

Was a big job for Joyce and Carl, bad thing is, they are

NOT done yet there are still a TON of leaves still on

the trees..
Penny went out and took the photo of the white birch

tree, when the sun hit it this morning it was so pretty

it just about glowed.. My sis IS up north, so I KNOW

she is really seeing the colors.. Its hard to even describe

the beauty and all the vibrant colors of all the trees, each

one has its own... This is a beautiful time of year.. It is

sposta go up to 70 today and be really nice.. I have the

back door open and the boys are enjoying the sunshine..

They miss Mark, he played with them so much and LB

LOVED all the brushing he did for him.. I have been

paying extra attention to them so maybe they wont miss

him too much.. :-)
I still don't have much of an appetite and I have NO idea

why.. I have been watching the news and LOTS of schools

are closing the list on the TV is huge.. Kinda made me worry.

They are closing the schools to wash them ... which to me..

well isnt it the kids that are infected? what good will washing

the school down do? would think they need to sterilize the

kids and teachers before entering.. :-) I still don't think I

am going to get a flu shot.. They are making too much out of

this this year and THAT is what scares me.. Its hard to

know what to do.. But I DO know I would seriously consider

home schooling if I had little kids in school..
Time to post this and wait for Rebecca... Then I have nothing

else planned and I'm kinda glad.. I like having nothing on my

schedule. Penny got us all clean for a few more days so we

are good to go... And that's what I'm gonna DO!! First.. this
