~More Rain~

We are expecting some severe storms

this afternoon, hail and damaging winds.

This is the only thing I hate about the

summer, the storms. Sunday, when we

lost power I found out why, there were

tornados. One hit in 3 Rivers, where I

used to live, one hit in Coldwater which

is only 13 miles east of me and one

hit in Battle Creek, which is north of

me. I sure say my prayers that none

will hit here. Hearing these warnings

scare me. I charged my chair yesterday,

so I am fully charged and that is one

worry I don't have.

Penny came yesterday and she lives

in Mendon, she lost power and from

what the radio said this morning she

is still without it. We talked about

her and I each getting a generator.

For her with the 4 renters she has,

it would be a good thing for her. She

has a gas stove, so she can still cook,

where me, I'm all electric so I cant do

anything.

My peonies have really opened up and

are so pretty. My geranium is not doing

good at all though and I have NO idea

what is wrong with it.. . I kinda think its

getting too much water with all the rain

we have been getting. But I don't know,

its been ages since Ive grown one...

2 of my outside kitties are really worrying

me, Dinky and Earie. They are both so

extremely skinny they look awful.. Earies

poor front leg looks awful...and him, he

wont come to me so I cant even grab him

to take him to the vet to look at his leg. I

think they are both skinny from worms. I

am having Penny get some worm pills

for them, now the trick is to get them to

eat them. These cats worry me so bad.I

havent seen Fuzz for a long time.

I'm gonna post this early as I have Kay,

from Southern Care coming today. Shes

the social worker, and very nice. Plus

with storms coming there is the chance

I can lose cable or power. I feel pretty

good today and I am most grateful, I'm

still a GORGEOUS WEEBLE too! :-)

~Holiday Today~

Penny came today even though its a

holiday. She got caught in the parade

in town on her way here. I had forgotten

today was a holiday! She counted the

tomatoes on my plant and said there

are 6 of them on it. This plant was

started early which is the only reason

for it already producing tomatoes...
Birdie is having more problems with

putting stuff in his house lately. The

one he has out there in the photo is

just too big, but he wont give up and

keeps trying to get it inside.
We had a really bad storm yesterday

afternoon and lost electric about 5:30.

It came back on sometime during the

night. It is so boring with no power..No

TV or Internet or phone! AGAIN ! Its

really getting old. I called Donnie this

morning to ask about a generator. He

has a huge one that will run his whole

house. He said a fairly good one will

cost about 800 dollars. That's WAY

out of my budget, but it sure would be

nice not to worry.
My chair was down to 2 bars, which is

when I usually recharge. I was about

panicky when the power went out and

I wasn't on full power . I mapped out a

plan on what I was gonna do if it was

out for any length of time. I decided I

would get in my manual just in case

so I wouldn't have to worry about

getting caught in the middle of the room

and no way to get to my manual chair.

That would be most awful. First thing

I did this morning was charge my chair.
My peonies are starting to bloom. They

are so pretty. Penny is going to take a

few home. She said the Lilly of the

valley she took is doing really well.
Its sposta get up to 90 today. I sure hate

to turn on my air. I dread my electric bill

going up. I just want to enjoy a low gas

AND electric bill for a while. I have a

ceiling fan in all my rooms that I can

turn on if it gets too stuffy in here.

I don't know what we are gonna cook

today I'm hungry for a tuna noodle

casserole though. Sounds so good

and something different for a change.

I get tired of the same thing all the

time.

Time to post and get on with today, I

~Started Out Nice~

Mrs. Hummer
It started out nice this morning, all sunny

and warm, now its rainy and dark. I had

hoped it would have stayed nice all day

since its a holiday weekend, but of course,

Michigan weather. You cant go by what

they say on TV, most everyone says the

same thing, to know what the weather is,

look out the window.

My tomatoes are growing so good, I am

most pleased with them. I watch them

every day to see how much bigger they

get and I look for new ones. This is a

very healthy plant and I bet I will have

lots of tomatoes.. I cant wait... :-)

My sunflowers are growing too. If the cats

would quit stepping on them! But they are

growing, they will be so pretty specially

when the birds, the goldfinches, come. I

havent seen the bluejays in ages but I

sure hope they come back. The cardinals

have steadily been here and birdie of

course, is on his house every day. The

picture shows him with a piece of grass

in his mouth... I tried to take a photo of

the other bird house but it wouldn't show

the sticks sticking out of it.. :-) Mr & Mrs

hummer are here all the time too.
Tomatoes

Not lots of news today, I did fix my puter, I

just had too much stuff on it and I had to

delete lots of photos. I hate to get rid of

any, that's my problem and why I keep all

that I do, I have NO idea why... :-)

Even though its rainy I do feel pretty good,

and I am still a most GORGEOUS WEEBLE.

I'm gonna post this and fix some lunch..I

have NO idea what, but I always find some

~Puter Problems~

My computer is acting up today and I

have NO idea whats wrong. I'm doing

some deleteing of files and photos in

hopes that's the problem.

Its a rainy cool day today. I'm really

sick of all the rain. It was so cool this

morning that my furnace came on ...

Heidi my nurse, came yesterday and I

am ok..I feel pretty good except for

a tad of acheyness in my stumps which

I contribute to the rain.

Penny is here and got us all clean for

the week end. She had to go to the

store and get cat food as I didn't have

any, I used the last 2 this morning. I

give my boys a can and I give the

outside ones a can. They eat every

bit of it, where my guys always have

some left that I give to the outside

guys...Everyone showed up today,

even fuzz who I havent seen in quite

awhile, I was getting worried about

him.

I'm gonna post this and work on my

puter... I hope y'all have a good week

end. I'm still a GORGEOUS WEEBLE.

~Bad Weather Coming!~

We are under a tornado watch until 7pm

tonite. Severe thunderstorms with hail and

damaging winds are predicted. There was

an alert on the radio that Ive never heard

before so they are expecting some bad

stuff. I just heard too, that the schools

here in Colon and in Nottawa are being

closed at 11 am, which is in a few minutes.

Ive never heard them do that before either.

The threat is severe.

I think after all these horrible tornados and

storms in Missouri and Minnesota and all

over that they arent taking any chances.

This stuff we are due to get is coming

right up from Missouri and Kansas.. I

have a friend lives in central Illinois

and I sure hope they are safe.

I was telling Penny that if we do get a

tornado I have no where to hide. I have

no basement. I think the safest place

for me is in the closet. The bathroom

has a window and I cant get into the

tub. My main worry is the boys, that

if we do have to get in the closet that

they will follow me.

Ive been watching the news, when my

cable works, which with this bad weather

coming again, I know it will go down again.

But those poor people in Joplin. How sad,

I feel so badly for them and I wish there

was something I could do to help them. I

saw where they dug a dog out that was

home alone. I worry about all the outside

kitties if the weather turns really bad.
This is the only thing I hate about the

summer is the tornados. Every 15

minutes on the Sturgis radio station

they come on and tell us to be on guard.

I think this might be a bad afternoon. I

hope not but...I still am gonna watch.

Penny is making some stuffed Peppers

today. They are so good. I have to make

some cabbage rolls next week for Donnie

when he comes to build my deck..He says

that's part of the deal, I have to feed him

and that's what he wants, says I make the

best ones of anyone. :-)

Time to close and keep watch. I'm still a

GORGEOUS but nervous WEEBLE.

~Charter Cable is down AGAIN!~

Look closely at the Robin...

I'm gonna hurry and write this in hopes

by the time I'm done I will still have the

net. Charter went down again yesterday.

Seems this is a weekly thing. 3 days

last week and a day and half this week,

so far. I am MOST disappointed with

Charter. I had crap service sometimes

with Comcast but not near as bad as

with Charter Cable. Plus they have that

push a number crap, and the music on

hold is awful. I was on hold for 15 minutes

this morning the first time I called.. Then

about 11 I got the net and TV back but no

phone, which is my main concern. Thank

goodness I was smart enough to get that

free cell phone. I am seriously thinking

of getting the Dish.
I was looking out at the duplex birdhouse

and I had to get my nocular to see what

kind of bird was out there. Its a robin, do

you see whats wrong with it? Its only got

one leg!!! Poor thing.. It stayed out there

quite awhile then flew off. I hope it will

survive. I never thought a bird could be

an amputee...
Across the street the people over there

seem to be ok. But they have a dog in

a fenced in small area.. Ive never seen

this dog out. Why do people have a pet

to keep in a cage? Specially leaving it

out side with hardly any room at all..The

next time I see Steve outside I'm gonna

ask him, he knows them. Steves puppy

Bailey is the cutest happiest dog Ive

seen. She has the best time out side.

Runs and goes all over. As young as

she is she knows not to go out in the

road and will run all along the edge

of it. Shes a sweet puppy.
Well, I better get this posted before

Charter takes a dive again. For as

much as they charge you would think

the service would be better. Lunch

time too..left over rotini. I'm still a

~Flowers~

As much as I like flowers I am so very

fortunate to have so many really pretty

ones. The flower bed out front with all

the Lilly of the valley and whatever that

other stuff is, I have no idea, but it sure

is pretty. The smell of the Lilly's is just

wonderful.

Down under the peonies are some little

white flowers and some yellow. I had

thought at first it was the wild straw

berries but no, its something else. The

peonies are just about ready to pop

open, the ants are all over it which is

good for them. There are 3 colors of

them planted together. When they

are open I'll call Joyce and tell her

to come over and pick some for her

self. She really likes them. I do too

but I have to leave them outside, I

cannot bring any kind of live plant

or flower in here, cuz my boy Dutch

will eat them, then puke all over. So

mom is not allowed anything live in

here but us :-) which is ok. I can still

enjoy them outside.

Penny hung the double impatients out

on the birdseed post. I can see it a lot

better , its so pretty. Then on the other

side is the pot Penny planted with the

morning glories, which are growing

very good, so are the sunflowers. I cant

wait to see the goldfinches again. I havent

seen the bluejays in quite awhile and I

miss them. The cardinals have been here.

I have been feeling pretty good and I sure

am glad. No real aches other than in my

shoulders and I think that's from pulling

myself up when I'm laying down. I think

that's one of the hardest things besides

transferring for me to do. As I get older

it will get harder and harder. That's why

I have to try to keep my strength up. I

cannot afford to get weak at all.. Always

a challenge.

Graybelle posed so pretty for me today. She

is such a sweet kittie to people, to other cats

she is such a meanie. Growls and slaps at

the others. Gimpy is the ony one that puts

up with her and follows her around until she

just is so mean he leaves. Earie was here

this morning and usually so scared, I opened

the door and he didn't run. He and Dinky are

so skinny I worry. They were both here at 6

when I got up..Tomorrow Penny comes and I

will have her get some worm medicine and

hopefully that will help them.I feel so sorry

for these poor kitties and it really breaks my

heart that they have no loving or petting. Its

sad ..How anyone could do this to them is

even sadder, I wonder how they would feel

if they were put out in the street. I cant let

them in, they arent neutered and plus I

don't think Dutch would allow it and Id have

constant cat fights on my hands. He and

LB havent been getting along lately at all

and Ive had to break them up... Kids.. :-)

Time to close and decide what I'm gonna

eat today. I'm so hungry for potato salad,

I think tomorrow that's what I will help

Penny to make. I might have a meatball

sandwich.. I had my fav yesterday :-)

so I cant have them today..Sigh.. only

once a week I give my self permission

to have them :-) They keep me the

GORGEOUS WEEBLE I am :-)

Today is my Dolly's birthday. My grand daughter

Kelli Beth. She is 27 today. The first time I saw

her I said "She is such a dolly", and Ive called her

Dolly ever since. She still is. Shes a lovely woman

and all of us are so proud of her. She has proven

to be a hard worker, a great mom and a tender,

caring daughter and grand daughter.

My ex, Willie, and I babysat for Kelli every day as

her mom and Dad both worked. Kellis mom was

killed when she was 4, Donnie, her dad raised

her and has done a wonderful job. Willie, her Papa,

I'm Gran, loved having this girl every day, lots of

times she spent the night.The only time Papa and

I argued was over who Kelli was spending the day

with. She loved going with her Papa, but she loved

being with me too. She was so smart and such a

happy girl we looked forward to her arriving every

morning.

I have always had pets, cats and dogs. Kelli loved

them all.. Her favorite was my black Burmese cat

named Skeeter. He followed her around constantly

and they had the best time together. She loved all

my pets, Greta, my shepherd and Gracie my other

cat. Skeeter was her favorite though.

We had bought Kelli a small grocery cart that she

wanted. When she would play with it she would hunt

down Skeeter, pick him up and cram him into that

cart, so she could push him around. Needless to say

he was not too impressed and didn't especially like

being in there. Kelli didn't care, she wanted him in it!

As she walked all over the house pushing that cart

Skeeter would try to jump out. Kelli would get very

upset and smack that cat on top the head telling him

"You STAY in this cart!".. Skeeter would hunker down

and just put up with the ride, hoping soon she would

tire of it and he could escape.

Kelli had gone home and I got to looking for Skeeter.

I called him and looked in his favorite napping spots

and he was no where to be found. THEN it hit me, I

remember Kelli pushing him in the cart that day and

I went in search of it. Our spare bedroom was where

we kept all of Kellis toys and she always put her toys

away before she left. 3 guesses where I found my cat?

Yup.. poor Skeeter was STILL in that cart with the most

pitiful look on his face. I went up to him and helped him

out of that cart. That cat had been in that cart most of

the afternoon. When he jumped out he hit the floor running

and headed straight to his litter box.. Poor kittie.. I made

sure after that Kelli let him out after she was done pushing

him around... :-)

I have many many stories of this special girl. She made 2

people very happy then and still does. Shes given us 2

great grands that I wish I knew better, but we live over an

hour apart so its kinda hard to see them a lot. Kelli and

Jorge both work every day and to plan a visit takes some

scheduling. Her Papa lives in Louisiana but makes trips

up here to see her quite often.

Its a beautiful day today and I am enjoying all my birds

and kitties. I watched today as one of the black birds

dive bombed one of the cats.. I didn't know they did that,

I know bluejays will but Ive not seen a jay in quite awhile.

The cardinals have been here and I saw a new blackbird

called a red wing blackbird..quite pretty. My tomatoes are

growing and I am anxiously waiting for them..


I feel good today and I'm so glad.. No aches or pains. I'm

still a GORGEOUS WEEBLE too! Happy weekend ...

~Exciting Day~

I noticed Charter has been here to see

what was said about them. Good. Maybe

they will fix their service better. Some of

the people they have answering the phone

calls are NOT good at their jobs. Then if

you make them mad they put you on hold

for 10 minutes in the hopes you will talk

to someone with some sense. They could

improve their service a lot if they wanted

to, for some reason they don't, and its

probly cuz they don't have to call and talk

to their reps, so how would they know.
The birds outside are eating the cat food

and pooping all over out there. The black

birds and the sparrows eat it. They like

it a lot. They have birdseed out there in

the birdbath and up on the post. Its hard

to get a picture of them. The photos arent

clear but that's because its super foggy

outside.
I woke up and looked at the time on the

cable box. It said 305. It was almost day

light outside. I got scared! I thought some

thing was drastically wrong! I hurried and

got into my chair and went into the living

room, up to the front door. It was TOO

light for 3 in the morning! I was getting

really upset.... I looked at the clock on

the cable box in the livingroom and it

said 6:05... I was VERY relieved... I

guess Dutch stepped on the remote, it

was on the bed. Talk about a great jump

start to my day!! :-)
We have had much excitement this

morning. Squirrley was here and he

let Penny almost go right up to him.

Then he got scared and ran down

and over to the tree. Tigger was here

and saw the squirrel run up the tree,

the cat got him and dragged him down

and was hitting him and rolled him all

over. Just at that time Penny saw them

and ran over to the tree, scared Tigger

off and squirrley ran back up the tree.

Hes ok ...just scared...
Penny got me a germanium, red, and

its in that top photo. Its in a really nice

pot that I am thinking about getting

one more. Its really pretty. She hung

the double impatient off the board on

top the post. It looks really nice out

there.
Looky at my 2 tomatoes I have on my

plant!!! I'm so excited! I cant wait for

them to get big enough so I, well so

Penny can fry them for me!! I can

almost taste them already :-)

Well I'm gonna close and eat some

lunch...what I don't know. I think we

might have some pasta roni..that is

some good stuff..I like the angel hair

its very tasty and only takes 10 minutes

to cook it.. in the microwave too!

~Charter Cable Service Is Bad~

Thanks to the great awful quality of Charter

Cable I have been with out Internet, phone

and TV since Tuesday afternoon. Good thing

I posted when I did or monday would have

been the last time I wrote. I, of course, called

them at least 3 times a day questioning what

was wrong. The people I talked to could give

me no reason as to what happened OR when

it was going to be back on...SO...

I called again yesterday, 3rd time that day,

about 5. I talked to some girl that said there

were no problems and she had NO idea what

was wrong as to why I had no service.. After

talking to that brick wall for over 10 minutes

I got mad and asked for a supervisor, named

Michael.... I explained my situation that it was

MOST dangerous for me to be with out a phone

as I was disabled. Michael then made arrangements

for a repair man to come between 5 and 9, he got

here at 8:30. I then had my cable restored, phone

and Internet..

What gets me- since Monday night I have been telling

Charter about my need to have my phone. Not one

of the people I talked to cared, not until last night. It

sure makes me want to get a satelite..Come to find

out.. I talked to my neighbor that HAD cable, they

did some work on his and screwed MINE up! But

apparently Charter didn't realize that and I had to

do with out. I am not happy with Charter. I hope

they read this.. Anyhowway.....

My tomato plant is doing wonderful! I have flowers

which means tomatoes... My flowers Penny planted

are doing great too!. She is bringing me a germanium

I think they are so pretty...

Pennys 52 birthday was yesterday.. I offered to give

her the day off but I had lots of stuff I needed done,

so she decided to come. Last year Pennys cat had

babies and she kept a male and sassafrass was the

one she brought here for me to enjoy. Sadly, the male

was killed yesterday. She took him to the vet and he

said he thought the cat was attacked by a coyote. I'm

wondering if this is whats happening to my outside

ones. Right now there are 4 out there that are limping.

Earie came by yesterday and I almost cried he is in

such bad shape he could hardly walk at all.. He took

a few steps, no he hopped a few steps and had to

stop..His right front leg he wasn't using. I had thought

perhaps someone like the lady across the street was

abusing them. I feel so badly for these cats. They all

have one problem or another. Graybelle and Dinky

are so skinny I worry about them. At least Graybelles

neck has cleared up.

I'm waiting for a call from Heidi she is due today. I got

a email from a TV reporter that may want to do an

interview with me, telling of the outcome of smoking.

That's why I lost my legs remember... If what I say

can stop one person from this happening to them

its well worth it...I didn't know this could happen or I

would have never lit up that first ciggie. If YOU smoke..

QUIT..

Rebecca just called and she is on her way here, so

I better go make myself presentable, id hate to

scare her :-) Remember I'm still a GORGEOUS

~Hummers Are Back!~

Look whos back! Mr and Mrs. Hummer..

Penny fixed the nectar just in time. I

wasn't sure when they would return

and they may have been here for a

while but I just didn't see them.

They were steady drinking yesterday.

I didn't spot them till around 3 or so.

I havent seen them yet today either.

But its kinda cool out today. My heat

came on which I keep hoping I'm done

with the high gas bill, but then if I turn

on the AC I know my electric will go

up then. Cant win. :-)

My rotini was great. I don't know what

Penny did to the sauce yesterday, but

I think it was the best shes made, it

was that good.. The cake is super. Ive

not had carrot cake in ages. I cant even

remember the last time I had it. It was

moist and so tasty, I really am enjoying it.
Mr. the red neck tells me who is who.

I got a great phone call last night from

Kirsten. I hadnt talked to her in quite

awhile. I sent her 2 videos of toy story

2 and 3..She said that she really liked

them. I asked her what she needs that

I can send to her and she didn't name

anything specific but said she wanted

4 things in a envelope. So now we have

to find 4 things, well Penny does that

will fit in an envelope. One of those big

brown ones. Penny is good and I'm sure

she will find something for her, she has

3 granddaughters of her own, so she knows

what little girls like. Its been a long time

since Kelli was little, so ive kinda forgotten.

Donnie said Kirsten is nagging him all the

time to bring her up here, and hes been so

busy hes just not had time. He promises to

bring her soon tho, and he promises to start

on my deck too! So lets hope he gets one of

these done!...

The pain is pretty much gone and boy, am I

glad. I still don't know why or if it was real or

phantom. I know it hurt. Travis was here

yesterday and I was trying to describe it to

him, its not easy. I know a lot of amputees,

but Ive never discussed phantoms with any

of them, that I remember. Plus if they are a

congenital one, like Sarah they don't get these

phantom pains. Ive not heard from her in a long

time, I hope she is doing ok. I should phone

her to find out. It always makes me feel better

when someone phones me to inquire how I am,

so It might help Sarah to know someone is

thinking of her.. Sarah is a triple amputee.

Well I'm gonna see what I can fix for lunch.

I have sauce left I just have to decide on

what kind of pasta..maybe angel hair. I like

that too. I'm kinda hungry but I'm tired, I got

up super early, 5:30 to be exact and I think I

will take a 5 maybe a 10 after I eat. Its a kinda

cold gloomy cloudy day, a good day for a nap.

Blue Glories

First thing I have to say is "Thank you

Lord for taking the pain away". I have

only a few pangs every so often of pain,

but thankfully not near as bad as they

were Saturday or yesterday. I am not

sure if they were phantoms or not. I

do know they hurt and I am so glad I

feel better.

really doing good, as well as the glories

that are planted in the hanging pot out

by the bird stand. Theyre blue ones.

Penny fixed the hummer feeder up

today, so maybe they will show up

soon. Right below it, between that

and the ready to bloom peonies are

where the sunflowers are.

Along side of the kittie house are

some more sun flowers. They will

look so nice by that. Plus the honey

suckle here by the back door is really

huge this year .. It will be beautiful

when it blooms...
I got the nicest surprise in the mail

today, that I did not know was being

sent, but I am very pleased! Its a

special edition of a magazine of the

Royal Wedding! Penny and I spent

almost an hour looking at the great

photos not only of the newlyweds but

of the wedding guests AND the royal

family. We enjoyed it a lot. Thank you

Penny made a cake for me today and it

smells wonderful.. Its a carrot cake with

creme cheese frosting.. And she made

spaghetti sauce as well! I am gonna eat

good today!.. :-) I'm so grateful that Penny

is such a good cook.She says its really

me that is the good cook since they are

my recipes.. :-) we both are..
I was so pleased to see Graybelle .. She

is in the kittie house right now. AND guess

who else is back! ....well you see the photo..

Birdie! Hes been gone for a few days and

I worry about these animals and birds when

they don't come by for a visit. Dinky came

by while Penny was here which pleased her.

He usually is here early morning and goes

before she gets here.
Well I'm done for today and I'm gonna go

eat some of this rotini.. not spaghetti, its

a nice change. It looks so good.. Wanna

come for lunch? :-)

I'm still a GORGEOUS, pain free, almost
